Hi Stuart  I was beginning to think you didn't like me anymore, I didn't realise you were working away :o

Its rare that either of us actually brings work back home with us as we're both generally happy to work overtime to get it sorted.

Hi Optimistic  I know you've been busy! :D Your garden will be wonderful when finished, its just the initial hard work which is, well, hard :p I like the idea of a perfumed sitting area.

    Thanks gally

I contacted my dad today to tell him the amount of loan (that I repaid last month) that I'm holding for him. We're going to have a chat tonight about it. I'm hoping he'll let me keep it in my ISA so I can earn the interest on it....but we'll see as he still hasn't found a job.

I'm going to close my ING account @ 1.97% with the whole 20p in it this weekend and have opened a Lloyds Incentive Saver at 3.10%.

So I'm pretty covered for savings :A I have my 12month regular saver for Xmas, my ISA for OP's (allowed in Jan), pension and Incentive for our holiday next year. Maybe I need one more?

    Have a good weekend!

Well its been rather an all out week of spending and eating

The Fat Duck was definitely an experiance and the hotel we stayed in was gorgeous as its turned out to be on its own private island with peacocks, swans and squirrels!

I've settled on Legal & General for life insurance and am trying to decide between L&G, AA or Direct Line for home and contents insurance

We'll be picking up our coffee table tomorrow :T and DH has finally ordered his new TV so in total there's another £700 on the cc  me thinks we may be using it too much.....

I was so good last night and went to the gym :A just wanted to share that :)

While at the gym i realised that I really need new trainers  My fav ones got thrown 2 weeks ago as I could actually fit my hand through the hole at the side and the ones that I'm wearing now (found at the botom of the cupboard) arn't waterproof and don't support my ankles
So I went a-searching and while I don't mind paying £40 for a pair that will last me years - how do you choose? Further, how on earth do you figure out which ones are for girls? and no, I don't really fancy pink ones. sigh

Plus do I buy trainers for the gym and a pair of shoe/trainers for work/going out? urgh

    on the other hand

Yay! I’ve been paid and this time I’m going to keep track of where it’s going. I’ll keep it at the end of the posts so that anyone reading can skip past it if they like.
My A&L account trundles along nicely with a general £40.00 left over each month which is great for emergencies.
It’s my Lloyds account, where my spending money comes from, which is the problem but no longer!
    22 Sept Paid + £325
    22 Sept Bus Pass -£43
    Total £282 in Bank
Ah ha! Lets see where the money goes now!

  • Hi SmlSave
Thought I'd drop by and have wee read at your thread. Can I advise going to a specialist running shop to get fitted for the most supportive trainers for your running style. This usually involves rolling your trousers up and prancing about the shop in your barefeet so the assistant can see how much your foot rolls to one side or the other. Please learn from my experience and shave your legs before going. (I had no idea they did this and ended up parading my hairy stumps to all and sundry.) Then take the name of the trainer and search for a cheaper deal online.

The first item we got with TopCashBack was a new TV stand from Home Cinema UK (recollection was about 10% and free p&p).

Yes you need one to protect TV from knocks etc of course ;)
