Thank you for all your kind posts
I'm soo tired I'm just popping on to say thanks and hi really. Am finding it hard to concentrate!
Miracles do happen QBI have an uncle and two friends who had 'surprises' after 45.
Your quite right Jellie, I've calmed down a lot after speaking to some good friends.
DH was very sweet and bought me flowers yesterday (this never happens!)
Must try and do some work now.......Currently studying for a Diploma - wish me luck

My BF also wants a PS3 for Xmas, so I've told him he has to be a very good boy so I think it will be me making my dinners for work for a while
If your "friend" is not prepared to discuss with you what she has heard, then I really don't think there is much you can do. Sometimes you have to way up the benefits of friends and decide if they are good for you or spend more time upsetting you
Maybe she is just jealous of you and OH, dont let her find out he bought you flowers, or she will be green like the stemsMortgage Aug 12 £165K, Aug 19 £0

Hey smlsave - you will make so many new friends as a pregnant lady and a new mum - that you just won't be able to believe it! They don't say "in the club" for nothing......:D0

I agree, having children opens a whole new world of friends. They are a great excuse for meeting other mums. I used to love mums and tots. Now the kids are at school it has dwindled off a bit now with their kids going to different schools and also work getting in the way of a social life lol
Enjoy your pregnancy if you can and congratsMPs left feb '08 276- Dec 13 36 :T MB Jan 10 ~ £82,377 Dec 13 ~ £29987

hope your okay smlsave and whatever has happened with this friend can either be cleared up or let go... it is so hard when friendships change or turn out not to be what you thought, but remember you will have loads of people who are true friends (and others who are MF nutters like us! :rotfl:)
hope you are feeling a bit better and bump is okay!0 -
Thank you everyone for being so supportive and nice
I know my friend drama has nothing at all to do with MFW.
I am feeling ok today and have found that eating every 1-2 hours helps a lot (soon I shall have my own centre of gravity :rotfl:)
I had a go at working out what maternity pay would be like and it's something like £530p/m for 8 months which actually won't be too bad. We won't be able to save/spend as much as we do now but that's no bad thing.
If I went back to work part time I would earn roughly £630p/m which again I think we'd be ok with (depending of course on childcare)
Regarding the friend situation: she's asked us not to contact her again as we treat her like a second class citizen  At least we know where we stand now and I guess I've saved myself a Xmas present.
We're off go-karting tonight to touch base with some other friends and will have a pub dinner afterwards, yum yum
I guess she could be jealous Radish, I never thought of that.
Thanks smf2 and pammy, I was thinking that it would be a good idea to join a group after Xmas? Then I'll know if bean is here to stay.
Good idea LP! I've found this really good T-shirt that I want to wear when we let our friends know it says: "I'm making a human being, what have you done today?"
Thanks DansMum and youngoneCurrently studying for a Diploma - wish me luck

Hi smlsave , hang in there , the sickness does tend to pass, I felt terrible when expecting my twins, and lost 1 1/2 stones, but I still ended up with 2 huge boys!
As for the friend, sometimes you have to let things go, people change and its not worth you wasting any more worry or energy over, especially when there's so much good stuff to concentrate on in your life nowMFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
Hi newgirly
I've got a date for my scanThe 20th December and I gave blood today for tests which wasn't as bad as I'd thought it might be.
I just keep singing in my head today...."I'm having a baby, I'm having a baby"...
Go-Karting and the pub meal on Friday was greatSaturday we got up the loft and brought down the Xmas boxes, cue me wrapping presents for all my female friends! It's all you organised people on here influencing me I swear.
DH ran his first 10k on Sunday and under an hour tooHis poor legs are rubbed raw but he's already planning his next one.
Off to Pilates later....Currently studying for a Diploma - wish me luck
