It's one of the latest gadgets around, in car satellite navigation. Some talk, some don't. !One thing they all try and do is cut out the getting lost. !For many it's this years Christmas Prezzie of choice. !
So we thought we'd tap MoneySavers collective research power to find the UK's cheapest and best.

I have been looking for a TomTom Go unit (£449 rrp)...but best price I can find is £412 at a few places including Amazon (okay one place does it for £411.95!)
Anyone found this anywhere cheaper?0 -
well the one i got from aldi was £250.
toyrus are selling the same one ( with a different badge on the pda) for £279.99

they appear out of stock at the moment though. ???what is the plural of moose?

the TomTom unit isn't a PDA, its an all in one unit with voice commands. New out unfortunately which is why prices are still high...0

yeah i know, i was looking at buying a tomtom go but could not justify the price.
as you can get tomtom3 for pda and it already comes with navicon software anyway ( with voice commands) and it does other stuff also, this for me was the best option.
a work colleague had purchased his 1 year ago and it cost him 1000 quid, he looked at the pda thing and wanted to swap.
techno advances are always a killer for those who bought when it was new.what is the plural of moose?

I have used a HP ipaq and bluetooth coupled with tomtom software. When its working its great - but a !!!!!! with cables and bits and bobs on the dashboard, and the bluetooth connectino has to be started up everytime. Its on ebay at the moment as I got fed up with fiddling with it whilst you drive.
I bought a tomtom go from currys with the discount code easily found on the web with a search for "7.5% discount currys" and my egg card for 10% cashback. Last week they were also throwing in a matsui freeview box. Free delivery at the moment and they come in at £385 ish.
IMHO this is a far easier bit of kit to use than a pda, but I know you can get built in gps's on some pda's at good prices. The tomtom go software is more up to date than that available for a pda - version 4 rather than 3 and the maps are more up to date too includind the M6 toll road.
Pay the extra its a brilliant piece of kit, and also has an intertial sensor for when you lose the gps signal ie it still works in tunnels and under thick trees. Better software, less cables and uptodate maps make this an easy choice.
Also tried the Navman IC510 but not a patch on the Go.This signature is not mine!0 -
Tomtom go now reduced total price with discounts and delivery £465 ishThis signature is not mine!0

HP TOM TOM HP1710 GPS HP IPAQ 1710 WITH TOM TOM NAVIGATOR PACKAGE £299.99
This is a plug and play package including pda, car kit, aerial, software and a preloaded memory card.
I use the ipaq 2210 with tomtom in my job as a taxi driver and I must say it is excellent, 95% of the time taking you right to the front door.
This is an excellent deal and you might be able to use the £25 off voucher if you take the purchase over £300.

Also remember that if you have an Egg Card you can currently get 10% cashback on everything at Currys, taking the price down still further......
You need to access the Currys site via the link on the Egg website (Egg Card "Double Cashback" page). The Currys website does not show the casback discount but it is refunded immediately to your Egg card at the same time as the purchase transaction appears.
