Or, if you are in the market for a new mobile, get one that is a smartphone such as the Orange C500 or a Nokia 6600 and you can buy a Bluetooth GPS Tom Tom unit, software and Uk maps for £150 to £200. No wires and no hassle, and by all accounts works a treat!
Plus I believe CoPilot is a similar system and price. No need to spend £400+ (Like I say, if you're looking for a contract mobile).
You can get the C500 for £150 on PAYG but you're heading back to the £400 price bracket...though you do get a top spec phone as well!I am a Mortgage Adviser

Not only do you get an excellent & useful pda but also a pretty amazing route finder...
I still find it vaguely spooky to hear "you have arrived at your destination" just as you pull up outside the address.
I now have so much faith in the system that I set off on a journey without even having the slightest notion of my direction!
Worth it's weight in gold, especially when (frequent) accidents close the road - its recalculation is so fast as you take the next turning to avoid the queue/jam.0 -
Does anyone know anything about the Navman PiN. It's a Windows PocketPC with integrated GPS. Apparently it comes with maps of 16 European countries and all the accessories for using it in the car.
The following link:
http://www.navman-europe.com/wheretobuy.php
shows where it can be bought in the UK - prices range from £300-£400.
Does anyone have one? ::)
Is the screen bright enough when used outside (in the sun!)
Are the voice direction instructions loud enough when driving? ;D
Thanks[0 -
I`ve been reading this thread with great interest, I was originally after a tom tom go, or similar all in one solution. But as the same money will buy a PDA and GPS I`d get more gadgetry for my money, one question though langtoft_lad, is the volume from the PDA speaker sufficient? or have you got an amplified cradle?
Cheers,

We bought one of these from Halfords in September and took it back a week later for exchange. The replacement went back to Halfords 2 weeks ago for a refund. Halfords have stopped selling it.
I bought the Medion 100 yesterday from Halfords, with integrated GPS antenna, and my husband is trying it as we speak.0
