Husband help

  • Tray, my heart goes out to you my love. Your husband isn't being daft or careless, it sounds like he's feckless and irresponsible.
Something will have to happen to make him change his behaviour and until that something does happen he won't change. You've tolerated it for quite a while so he knows he doesn't have to change because you put up with it and he can blame you for getting upset by it. You mentioned talking to his mum, that might help - she may be well aware of how he behaves, on the other hand she may not wish to acknowledge it so might not be much help.
You sound like you don't know which way to turn so things must be really difficult because you're clearly an intelligent woman.
What to do? Well, if I was in your shoes I'd take advantage of as much wise advice in this thread as I was able to and I think I'd talk to my gp about it. It's not a medical matter but it is affecting your health. Doc may not have the answers but may be able to point you in the direction of people who can get you out of this thicket.
Good luck and chin up and keep posting if it helps - Dora

If tray is pregnant she must be seeing the midwife etc and when the baby is born the midwife and health visitor will visit her at home, she could take these opportunities to talk, she may feel happier in her own home bringing the subject up. Health Visitors and midwives can be very wise and have heard it all before and are a very good starting point for help and advice of what is available locally.. tray sounds very isolated, I am not sure if it because of where she lives, can't drive etc but I think it more that she is overwhelmed with her problems and who wouldn't be but also her husband has 'cut her off' and taken all her confidence
