Their rights not to be cold called transcend your 'rights' to cold call.
if they're a customer with Halifax, Bank of Scotland, or any of the banks within the Lloyds banking group, then it's not a cold call. Also it's not a "right" not to be cold called or to cold call. it doesn't fit into any civil or human rights i can think of.
What im trying to say is; the halifax only use the numbers within the agreed boundaries that the customer has granted when that telephone number was willingly given to the halifax. don't cry about it now in such a passive aggressive manner. it's so unbecoming.0 -
i have been recieving calls but they always hang up just before i get to answer it. i am a hal cust they ring at stupid times at night. luckily for me i have the ability to block calls from certain phone numbers so it just registers as 'call from blocked number' but they neva leave a voicemail. i dont see why my bank is passing on my number to anyone if i want insurance i wil go n ask 4 it myself instead of being pressured or tricked into it.0

You need to answer the call and tell them you don't want any more Sales calls and to remove your number from the list. If there's a problem with that, go into a branch and get it done there, get your account "contact" information amended. You do NOT have to agree to receive sales calls.0

Had a call from "Zoe" said she was calling from First Assist "In conjunction with the Halifax" Said she had an offer about insurance. It's my belief these scum are scammers as we all know the Banks do not give out names and phone numbers. They will them ask YOU to confirm your deatails leading to them having everything they need to cause grief to your savings! I reported them to the Fraud department. Anyone taking a call should realise they don't know where your account is but if they sat the Halifax theres a good chance they'll be right occassionaly! Hang up report them straight away.0

I have repeatedly got calls from these guys. After the first few I contatced halifax and they removed my number from the system (I also blocked the call centre).
That worked for a few weeks, but they're back even though I'm not supposed to be contacted. Still their agressive selfs. Back to halifax to complain it is.0 -
I have just complained to halifax, as i am being called by them on my mobile and landline, anything between 2 and 4 times a day so 4 - 8 calls a day usually as late as 8pm when i think it is my mum calling
only 3 people actually have my landline so i usually always answer it now i just ignore it unless im expecting a call
do halifax provide this company with your details? as i only gave halifax my landline no one else since i moved in so it must be them
very angry and sick and tired of the calls after asking them to stop feel really harrassed
its especially annoying when you are looking for jobs and panic that each phone call could be important and its just advertising!:(0 -
Arrgggghh, I know this is an old post but I googled the number and First Assist, I have been getting calls at home and on my mobile for a few weeks now, constant, they try the home number first and if we don't answer my mobile goes off straight away, I have put this number in as a scam, the woman asked to speak to me, by name, I said why and she said she was calling from First Assist, I said in no uncertain terms do not call me again or my home number and take me off your list immediately.
I am not a Halifax customer so don't know where they got my details from? As people above have said I will get my own insurance etc on my own terms not by a cold caller.
These posts go back to 2009, they are obviously still at it.
BTW I am also on the telephone pref service!0 -

These guys seem to have stepped up a level. e have been getting calls from them saying that they are part of the RAC ( - they're NOT, I checked.) Following yet another call from them yesterday I decided to check our bank statement and found that they have set up a direct debit and have been taking £11 a month from us since July. Coincidently, the payments started on EXACTLY the same day that our RAC payments renewed!!
I have no idea how they got our bank details but am in the process of investigating - HALIFAX, RAC and M&S Insurance are all possibles.
I ill keep you posted.0 -
Use the Direct Debit guarantee to get all those calls reversed (your bank MUST do that immediately if you tell them to). These guys seem to have stepped up a level. e have been getting calls from them saying that they are part of the RAC ( - they're NOT, I checked.) Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0
