Surely the ONLY place for a large organ is the bedroom?
I like it, but no kids so? everything can be had at a lower price today...tribuo veneratio ut alius quod they mos veneratio vos0 -
What is your description of a large organ? To me it would seem adequatelly large?
But then I like them big. As i do in th OP's property.Sadly, you don't have any badges yet but keep trying! See what you could get........... oh boo hoo I am crying into my wine.0 -
I wonder if the property is listed.
I would certainly find out if it is, it COULD mean all sorts of things, ( you cnat chage the windows etc very expensive authentic refurbishments etc ) Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
I cant see it being listed as they have already made big changes - ie the windows arent the originals - they're horrible plastic frosted things. Will check though - thanks.MANAGED TO CLEAR A 3K OVERDRAFT IN ONE FRUGAL, SUPER CHARGED MONEY EARNING MONTH!:j

We have a terrace on the top floor of our flat, and the big headache in obtaining planning permission was to make sure that it did not affect the privacy of our neighbours' garden. we were granted it but on the basis that we put frosted glass instead of the railing, and it needed to be at least 1.2 m high.
If some of the frosted windows are overlooking your neighbours' private garden, I would check with the council planning permission dept if you can replace them as they may contest it on the grounds of compromising their privacy.0 -
Oh yes - think about the noise level from your children. You'd be amazed by how noisy these old buildings with hard floors and high ceilings can be - voices just echo around them...
Yep - let them have a good run around at the next viewing. I'd never rent a place with laminate floor for this reason (if buying I could change it, of course). Instant migrane. Also, how easy will it be for the kids to manage the spiral stairs - depends on age, but trips to casualty are a right time wasting pain in the bum. And if they can't play in the garden, that's where they'll chose to spend their time!0 -
The kids wouldnt need to use the staircase as their bedrooms are on ground floor level. The staircase is just up to the master bedroom. Noise erm ... not thought of that!MANAGED TO CLEAR A 3K OVERDRAFT IN ONE FRUGAL, SUPER CHARGED MONEY EARNING MONTH!:j

House is gorgeous and unsusual - but looking at the panoramic view of the master bedroom it looks like it is a mezanine type room overlooking the main lounge.
Are you not worried about the lack of ...erm bedroom privacy and erm 'noises' (sorry if too much info!!) into the main house if your kids are in the lounge. Just a thought as you did mention you have a growing family and always feel that master bedroom needs to have some privacy and its important to be able to shut the door...0 -
Hi - yes you're right about the master bedroom. However, I cant see privacy being an issue as we dont have sex anymore.
No just joking.
Its not an issue as any time we were in bed the kids would be in bed. perhaps it may be more of an issue when they're older but I cant forsee a time when they're up later than us.MANAGED TO CLEAR A 3K OVERDRAFT IN ONE FRUGAL, SUPER CHARGED MONEY EARNING MONTH!:j

I would definitely get your kids to have a good run around to check the noise level. I have a 2 yr old and we have a combination of wooden and laminate floors and, coming from a carpeted house, it does make a big difference! Next door also have laminate and 3 boys, and we can hear them too.
As your boys get a bit older you may find they need a garden. I have 2 older boys, and could never have managed without a garden when they were younger. It's good for them to be out in the fresh air kicking a footy about.
Lovely house though (except for the bathroom), can see why you're keen!0
