House without a garden - link

I like the bathroom! Though not the colour.0

Hi - thanks for the comments!
There is actually a beautiful garden out back but that was sold to next door. The current owner has tried to buy some of it back but no banana. There is a small gravelled garden to the front and at boths sides a small walk way down the side of the house (not public - just mean down he side of the house) and then houses
so no walls to kick balls at.
The bathroom isnt the old alter - its just a really horrible OTT bathroom with plastic columns bleurgh.
There is masses of space in the basement which has been semi converted (it has windows and concrete floor etc) but I';m not sure how to make this livable space . I'm sure it would be great for a playroom and perhaps a spare bedroom? (There are two large rooms in the basements + utility).
We would be looking to sell on in say about 5 years time at a guess. This isnt our forever house -I dont think.
I agree with the pipes - although I think the house in general (apart from the bedrooms) is abit tacky looking and dated. However, I can still see heaps of potential to make a lovely , unusual home. A home that - for the money - has really big pluses (a huge unusual living space - gorgeous grand hall - large bathroom) but also the big minus of no back gardenThough, if it did, it would prob be out oif our price range!
I think I could get past the garden issue - its just the future resale that would worry me.MANAGED TO CLEAR A 3K OVERDRAFT IN ONE FRUGAL, SUPER CHARGED MONEY EARNING MONTH!:j

As for the offer of £150K - do people think that is reasonable? I do as, as i said, it was first put on market before all this credit crunch bother and they havent reduced. I also think, at the end of the day - its a 3 bed without a garden. We're selling our 3 bed with garden down round for £135K so I think they've hiked a big premium for the 'character' of the property. Plus - it must be over priced or it would have sold!
The lady who showed me around first time was very houseproud and thought her bathroom was the bees knees and very grand. The estate agent also said to me that it need no work doing - is beautiful etc. So there's no reduction for work to be done. However, I'd think that most people would find that bathroom offensive - and the kitchen is also very dated and cheap looking -as well as the horrible orange/red walls and orange stained beams. I think we'd need to spend about 20K.MANAGED TO CLEAR A 3K OVERDRAFT IN ONE FRUGAL, SUPER CHARGED MONEY EARNING MONTH!:j

Not surprising you haven't used the back garden much this year, the weathers been rubbish! But what about when the weather is nice all summer? You may come to miss that back garden...0

I think £150k would be a good offer. How long has it been on the market for? There seems to be lots of newbuild 3 beds in the area with £175k asking price, and then the other 3 beds are bungalows for £150k.
The lack of garden wouldn't bother me. We chose an apartment after realising that if we wanted a garden, we'd have to severely compromise on location, which was a big "no no"! So long as there's a park or some green area nearby, then I wouldn't see it as an issue.Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
The weather has been rubbish but even on the nice days we go out to the park or walking.
Pinkshoes its been on the market over 12 months. The new builds on at 175K havent sold at all - I also see them as overpriced as our house is an 'old' new build and we're selling at 135K, having bought 5 years ago for 120K - and the bungalows have been on a while too. Not much happening at the moment.
There is a park about 3 minutes walk away - not the same as having own garden I know but much closer then the park we have now.
Anyhow, have booked a viewing tomo with hubby - see what he thinks.MANAGED TO CLEAR A 3K OVERDRAFT IN ONE FRUGAL, SUPER CHARGED MONEY EARNING MONTH!:j

It sounds like you'd be cooped up in there. I'd not buy a property without outside space and without parking - and the frosted windows makes it sound like a prison.
Forthe lack of those basic amenities I'd expect it to be the cheapest property about, but there's a 4-bed detached with garden/parking for £155k or the bungalow at £149,950 - both within 1/4 of a mile.
It'd drive me nuts not having my own private space where I could hang up my pants and have a crafty cig in my PJs without being overlooked. Not to mention feeling the car was safe to leave parked.0 -
I think the very most important deciding factor is whether you like to have barbecues or not0

Where do you hang the washing out?0
