Froddington - thinking of you and your Dad today
Serena - hugs for you and your Dad too, I liked the bulbs idea. A friend of mine planted an area of her garden in memory of her Mum, and she sits there when she misses her.
    Denisefowler -congratulations to your DS1
Dustykitten - hope your DS is better this morning? I love the library too, ours is next door to the school so I have started going 15 minutes early to pick up the boys.
Valli - it was me who said about home visits for 4+ children. I think it helped DS2 to have met them in an environment he was omfortable with, and it meant I could actually talk to them about any concerns without feeling that half the other mums are listening. He is loving school - just had a temper tantrum becuase he can't go till after lunch!

Very cold here again. I can't put the central heating on because the great pile of rough sawn planks that will eventually be my kitchen are stacked next to a radiator. No fire wood so I can't put the stove on. I must find a supplier of logs, either that or destroy another bit of the house for use as firewood :o . Do we really need skirting boards?

I shall instead do some cleaning to keep warm. SS1 has come to live with us as the college course he wants to do is here. He wants to bring a friend round this afternoon so I need to have a tidy round - just glad I did the LR and Snug earlier in the week.

HHC 10.30 to 11 anyone? - Vanilla & Boddy, I will join you even though - late but better than not at all.

Morning all I really cannot get going this morning, I didn't sleep great and don't feel very well today - just off colour.

DS3's arm seems ok, he can still move it fine it is just very bruised and sore if he leans on the bruise, he has gone to school but I've alerted the teacher

DS2 was feeling sick this morning, unlike him, but again has gone to school so hope he is ok.

DeniseF well done to your son, he has a lovely smile, I bet he is popular with the girls!

I'm going to do half an hour tidying round and then hope to create a list for motivations.

Now and then it seems that life is just too much.

Denisefowler what a lovely photo, well done to your DS! I am sure after such an achievement he won't give up now.
Valli hope your boiler gets sorted (and is covered)
jjef hope you feel better soon
boddy hope you are ok after the client incident x
Kaz, I think sleep is more important than homework as a parent and someone who's assisted in classrooms with children who couldn't keep their eyes open. Does she have a planner/diary they could write in to let you know they have homework if it's not always going to be the same day?
hollyh hope you're feeling better soon, its doing the rounds here too
Dusty how is your DSs arm?
GG and AnWsMum, I know how worrying it can be when your child has 'issues' in school or with other stuff for whatever reason, but please try not to worry too much at home. They'll get there, it just might take a little longer, but they will, they are still very very young. That comes from someone with a child who could barely talk before 4 who now doesn't shut up (I sometimes wonder if working on it was the right thing!!!) and who couldn't single read letters before he was about 6 but now at 9 sits with encyclopaedias reading them pretty fluently. Unfortunately with many children it does come down to if they're not interested or don't see what's in it for them, they don't ''apply'' themselves as much as teachers would like, but it doesn't mean they're not learning.
G&B a bit late but I brown the mince then throw everything in as I would in the pan, careful not to over spice as slow cooking I find tends to make it hotter with the same amount of fresh chilli.
Summermoon you're not alone, sometimes mine are up before Dad gets in from work at 3.30/4am. When they were smaller 5am was our 'normal' getting up time, this happened when it was 6am and the clocks changed (so try and adjust your 2 before it changes). With the move I did 'one bag/box to pack and one bag/box to go' every day, it really worked for me on the gradual build up over the month to moving. Was still some things to pack but nothing like the panic when I'd moved before.
vanilla I hope your fridge arrives safely today
Frod big hugs and lots of positive thoughts for you and your Dad
    juliejim well done!!!
rach, quarterly inspection, that sounds like a right pain, surely that isn't being able to have quiet enjoyment of the property. TBH the washing could be all over the floor if you like, it's naff all to do with the landlord or agent until you move out, I wonder what the excuse for doing inspections is apart from charging the landlord a large fee.
pigpen that's the ones he's on about trying with DS2 when he goes back, he'll be 8 at the end of January.
greenbee, that's the thing I suppose with DS2 we do cope, it's normal for me. Only problem I have now really is the day time wetting as the children at school will notice more now he's in juniors.
SarahShattered, I've been bogged down in the past with appointments and have politely told them all to bog off and I will call when I need them. You don't have to go if you're getting nothing but stress out of them.
Mudbath mine are 7 and 9, their sleep patterns are erratic but being in bed by time is 9pm which to them means tv/games/toys etc finished with and in bed. Of course DS1 not being the best sleeper occasionally reads after then but I do try to have everything inc lights off by 9pm during the week, when they go up changes over the week as they're at cycling until 8pm Wednesday, swimming until 7.30pm Thursday, club until after 9 occasionally Tuesdays, but Sunday and Monday they're usually into bed around 8pm mark.

School/nursery home visits are becoming more 'normal' I know Ds1s school did a home visit with the school nurse. It was really useful to just have a chat about DS1, any concerns, home life (as it does impact on school)

Wet on the ground but had stopped raining, feet and ankles got soaked walking the dogs, forgot to put walking boots on. I've got loads to do but have barely moved since getting back with the dogs. I've still a couple of things to do off last nights missions as I had other stuff to do when we got back from the activities, DS1 actually had a go on a gokart last night which took me by suprise. Will do myself a list in a mo.
One day I might be more organised...........
