Mrs Beatson - How has your daughters birthday gone and how much extra work was it?
not much extra work! i used to do tea parties for (what felt like) every kid in the street for their bdays but her dad is taking her out on friday (he VERY ill today so she just went for a short visit) so i havent had to do much this year!! the older they get the more content they seem to be with trips out as a treat for their bdays(ice skating, cinema etc) which lessens the work load!!! She was thoroughly spoilt (arent they all?? lol) and i think she has had a lovely day!!
Spotted pigpen's note to self re my oven cleaning!! grrr i really should think before i type!! :rotfl: still if i have to report back to you all, it really will give
me the motivation to do it at long last!!

Thank you so much for your warm wishes. Bless her her blonde hair is now coloured, in places, with red. Will have to wait until tomorrow to wash her hair as I don't want to get her chin wet.
She is now wondering around say 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9 so she seems fine. I wouldn't mind but one minute she was standing up the next minute she feel over and forget to keep her head held up and smashed it on the wooden floorSo glad that I hadn't washed the floor liked I had planned otherwise I would have blamed myself and said it was because the floor was slippery.

PS has anyone read the book Time management for manic mums (apparently achievable in 7 weeks  ) and is it any good as saw it advertised and thought it might be worth a read
See ya later
yes - i thought it was good - it made me think and i am better.
i like getting things done by david allen more. i think i use ideas from the 2.
just waiting for dh to come in. dinner was just rescued as it had nearly boiled away so i just added more liquid and turned the SC down.

Spendless – but it WAS Monday!
not any cleaning/household items that's for sure. Never mind mum gave me their charity bag instead. Pick kids up, note for self making a homework area for the kids is a great idea:T getting kids to do it over weekend and not last minute is brill:T putting homework in kids bags for them is nice but maybe I should have let them do it themselves:cool: cos if they had eldest would not have lost playtime cos he told teacher he'd left work at home when it was in his bag all the time.:o Took kids blackberrying after school and found apple trees as well:j But was so worn out, that called at fish & chip shop on way home.:D
My front room looks nice though.:beer:0 -
And I thought that with Valli at work today things would be quieter so I'd have a chance to keep up
Just leaving work, so will start my list when I get home in an hour or so, then catch up with the next 5 or 10 pages that will have appeared by then.
Trikerthere's not really much to say. Bad day...
I'll catch up with everything else later.0 -

MoJ2 [strike]Hope[/strike] glad DD is ok! And Tarotangel is right – if in doubt off you go… and when you mentioned you were pleased you hadn’t washed the floor I thought we were going to be in for a gory tale of dripped blood!
Polka – good luck with the competition – that’s a definite talent you have there!
Kazwookie – some good advice already posted – esp re solicitors – I remember telling ex OH to go for a free interview – he phoned the first one in the book …began with A… they said ‘no one does free interviews’ and the t**t believed them and used them – hope it cost him a b***** fortune!
Kazmeister – love the Flyfamily plan!
Mrs Beatson – Happy Birthday DD. Looking forward to the oven clean update!
Well spent AGES catching up with the thread – in 2 batches, while tea (or dinner – take your pick) was in the sparkling oven (for DD and me).
Have also washed the pots – Breakfast? Dinner? (oh all right lunch) as kids have been home but apparently unable to do this and S&S kitchen. Tore strip off DD who cooked fish fingers and DIDN’T put the pack back in the freezer (only 3 left…but still) so microwaved them and gave them the cat! Since my list of instructions didn’t specifically include ‘wash the pots you use, dry them and put them away’ they didn’t. Will take leaf out of Kazmeister's book!
Spendless– how many times do I hear ‘but my Mum hasn’t put it in my bag…etc!’ We had a Y1 last year who came to school knickerless (and they wear skirts and sit on the carpet) because her Mum hadn’t put any out for her! Lucky we keep spares for accidents!
Toots – you meanwhere’d you find that one?
Have to say
coz I am sure I won't be able to keep keeping up!
Glad I have changed Year groups - cos 3 kids out of what would have beenthis years class if I hadn't - and 2 Y6 kids were in MAJOR trouble for misdemeanours at dinner time! That would have been major stress for me! Other than that - not a bad day - still it's soon be Wednesday - last day 4 day weekend in VallilandDon't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016
Thank you Honey Bear0 -
MOJT - glad DD's chin only needed tape and that you weren't too long.
Well, I've certainly flown in the last hour or so. I've brought the washing in, emptied the DW, put the BM on, chosen paint colours for the outside of the house with him upstairs, created a chicken casserole concoction with chicken thighs and drumsticks, celery, leek onion and some stock. That's in t'oven now. Fed the birds. Have created an ecrypted area on my laptop so I can use it at work. Have dysoned the living room and S&S'd the kitchen.
Just need to peel some extra veg now to go with the chicken (mash and fresh garden peas seems like a good idea) and put the rubbish out in a bit (bin including recycling day tomorrow) and that's me done for the evening (apart from clearing up after dinner of course! - Maybe I'll leave putting the rubbish out until after dinner then the chicken bones won't be hanging around for a week).
I think I can pour myself a G&T now - cheers! :beer:I am the leading lady in the movie of my life
