  • Evening all,

Not a good flying day today - everything just got away from me! I managed a bit of filing and sorting - but DS came home from high school telling me he had to have footie boots for tomorrow - was hoping to put that purchase off for a week or two so a quick trip into our small market town after school and £30 later a pair of shiny new boots - arghh!! That's blown all my budgets for the month! Haven't had to buy a pair for a while as he's not into football - could have gone 15 miles to bigger town but with the cost of petrol and parking I don't think I would have saved anything - he's got size 7 feet already so we're into VATable clothing etc too - what a bind as he's had to have all new this year - told him he'll have to make do with black shorts not blue for a while - can't afford to replace perfectly good clothes just for sport.

So - managed the following - will try harder tomorrow!

Monday Mucking out - Living Room, Hall and Stairs
    Level 1
Vacuum through the living room, hall and stairs - done yesterday!
    Level 2
Dusting, even if around everything - later maybe!!
[STRIKE]Remove clutter making sure stairs especially are safe[/STRIKE]
Clean windows and all glass.. including the tv screen
[STRIKE]Pounce upon the piles of coats and shoes and fling the ones that are no longer worn/needed/fit/wearable[/STRIKE]Hurrah can get about in the hall again!!

    Level 3
Wipe and water plants - none here!
Put all your hotspots in one pile and work your way through it.. some added together some have to live in a pile until I have time or I'd neve rhave any space in the lounge!
Vacuum under furniture you can manage to move without hurting yourself
Extra Mission: Pick one or more of the following tasks –
    1. [STRIKE]
    2. Filing.. find a pile and file it [/STRIKE]
    3. Wipe down any paintwork that needs it.
    4. Binbag dance.. Get a binbag.. fill it and bin it!!!
    5. HHI (did someone mention they needed one?)
    Sealed Pot 617 - target £150 only managed £27 in 2009!

    Evening all

Dropped A at cubs, got back, showered W put him to bed, we read the Hungry Caterpiller. Need to find the PE kit stuff and book bags for the morning and I think we are set!

Printed 150 pics for Mum's birthday album which Dad is going to have to label up  Erm I have a confession as well ...... bought some spare ink to print the pics and thought buy one get one half price was a good deal so bought 6 (various colours) so that I had a complete set of spares. Got home, checked ink club on quidco and realised I could get the lot for for £55 instead of the 'bargain' £78 I paid yesterday. Had to use one that I bought but took the rest back saying I had bought the wrong ones. Gave the woman the receipt and the unopened inks and asked for refund plus purchase of a new different ink for Dad's printer. Got out of the shop, checked both receipts and realised she had refunded 6 instead of 5 inks. Thought for a moment, then thought 'leg it' so we did in the car! :o

    Hi Everyone.

Went to do my meeting and greeting this afternoon. Just before I left a little girl dropped a styroform cup of tea which splashed onto the back of my leg. Poor little soul I asked her if she was ok and hadnt burned herself. Her little face was a picture cos I think she thought she would get wrong. I was just annoyed there was an adult there who let a child carry hot tea. Reassured her that it would take two minutes to clean up.

Then went to see mum who was fine and enjoyed a bit fresh air and her usual smoke. The home has taken 11 residents in from one of the homes in Morpeth.

    Since Ive come in Ive

    Done tea and washed up.
    two lots of washing done.
Need to fill in a questionairre about my job its about staff well being. That should be fun.

mumofjusttwo Glad DD is ok and you didnt have to wait too long.

    nearlynewbie Hugs.

    Mariel Welcome.

lil_me Saw that about the little girl. Very quick thinking on her fathers part.

Polkadot Good luck for the competition.

    Evening all!

Just finished catchin up with the thread. Called into Mr S on the way home and bought the food on the list - their new 1% milk is on offer for £1 at the mo, so I bought 4 so there are 2 in freezer and 2 in the fridge. We drink loads of milk cos we drink so much tea! I also managed to get some heavy duty cleaning products to sort out the mildew around the bath seal and limescale in the loo as all OS methods have failed, and it's time to call in the big guns. They were all on offer too. Also bought some more sr flour and some plain flour for baking, but forgot to put cream of tartar on the list so that I can make snickerdoodles. Also got a lower rate for petrol (109.9 instead of 112.9 where I live).

Good news is that the TA rushed down to the office at the end of the day and told them that they should ask for me again. The lady at the office remembered that I'd been to the school before, and asked if I was free for the rest of the week (yes apart from Thursday morning), and she said that if the teacher isn't in tomorrow, then they'll ask for me!:j

I called into my M&D's on the way home and had a cup of tea cos OH thought he'd left part of the gun he was borrowing round there the other day, and asked me to look for it. (He thought he'd lost it, and it would cost £50 to replace!!!) Anyway, my mum found it, so crisis averted.

Well, I've got a headache now (probably not used to the early mornings any more), so had best go and cook our jacket potatoes for dinner! How funny that everyone is having them tonight. We're having cottage cheese in ours and having them with salad too.

Take care everyone, and WELL DONE to all the new flyers for doing so well on your first days!

Haven't a hope of reading all the previous threads - sorry!!

We're home - had a restful and relaxing weekend away, and I didn't want to get up to go to work this morning :(

When we got home yesterday I totally unpacked, put through two loads of washing, DS3 vacuumed living areas, I wet mopped kitchen & entry floors, OH wiped down kitchen bench.

    Today looks like this:
    More washing
    Work
Meeting at 3.30 with DS4 comp teacher
    Grocery shopping
    Dinner
    Budget meeting 7.00pm.
Try and sort some bills to pay

Hope all those who were back at work today aren't too shattered!

Lucky Valli with her 4-day weekend.
Glad you're getting some work lined up SM.
Polkadot - great news that you're going in for the competition - we want to hear all about the preparation as well as the results

Made it home, have emptied the dyson and had a bit of a rest - am now off to tackle pigpen's list before finding some food and then getting ready for tomorrow. I'm in the office every day this week, which means I'll have lots of meetings but get b****r all work done as I'll have no time to myself.

Breathe in breathe out, calm down and chill

Phew, A was back late from cubs. Mum was going to fetch her and they should have been here by 8pm (10 min journey), got to 20 past and I started to panic big time. I know I shouldn't and there would be an explanation but I was getting really worked up. Just arranged or my sis to come round and sit with W (who is in bed) and they turned up, by then it was 8.30pm. Mum had forgotten to go for her (no answer on the phone), Akela knew she was on taxi duty and called her when she didn't arrive. So relieved, normally I am quite laid back about things but with DH going out the door and not coming back I think that it is my achilles heel now.

It all looks so daft now I have read it back as well!

A is home safe and sound and I am sure you mum feels really bad abotu forgetting and will try hard not to let it happen again.. big big hugs for your panic though.. At least they had a contact number for your mum and the good sense not to let A go on her own.. :D
