Toots when Freecycle became a registered charity they had to stop asking for people to offer first IIRC, it was just before I got more involved but I am sure sites have had to take that off their rules

Just feeding kids junky takeaway :o sorry, lazy but I feel ill tonight, they had HM bread for lunch and other more healthy stuff so not going to make myself feel too bad about a pineapple and sweetcorn pizza. Did tell them I'd take them over the club house but with a booming headache, think pain relief first and see how I feel. I nearly went home an hour ago because I feel so rotten but then thought I would only have the same, if not more, to do at home....

Done some of my sorting out in the caravn, we have about 15 or so cupboards which have been 'dumped in' over the summer, had a good dig through 6 of them, pile of stuff to go home and a load for the bin!

Thanks lilme I have just posted a wanted note so we will see what happens! There's loads of things I need so might get hooked and it will help clear some stuff too!!

Hope your headache is passing - what a shame - is your caravan all electric ? It couldnt be carbon monoxide poisoning could it?? Just a thought as i seem to remember you werent feeling too great last weekend = or am I havering again???

Gawd - is that the time! Better rush and find something quick for dinner. Fish fingers and chips sounds like a plan!

I've been pottering about today. Had my hair highlighted, did Tesco, chauffered Nice Neighbour about. Emailed stuff to Dusty - hope they help :D - will sort out a 'package' for you at some point over the next 24 hours.

I've had my head down in my research again in between times. Yesterday I was in Nova Scotia with bankers, today I've been in Norfolk with the Colman family of mustard fame, Spitalfields, and Guys Hospital in London with druggists and doctors and Madras, India, looking up acting governers. Boy I've been around the world a bit!

Right, off to stick the oven on high. Thank heavens for Tesco's finest oven chips!

  • Hi all
I need your help (not again I hear you say!) - actually me asking for help is quite hard as i have always been very independent but I am realising its not a sign of weakness.

I have had lovely ideas from you guys today regarding my curtains, ebay, mealplans, freecycle etc and I am straining at the leash to get into them all right now .....and there's where I need your help - I need to take things slowly - I think thats where I have got into a mess before as I have started so many things and not finished them or made them into my routine IYSWIM.

I need to take things onboard but not necessarily dive head long in - hard when its something exciting/challenging - anyway you helped me through my filing mountain and through that I have made my lists which are working (sort off!) and I am trying very hard to keep the filing under control.
I am finding you are opening up loads of new ideas to me for which I thank you and please dont stop - but can you help me keep it together time wise.

Its like the curtain thing - I went off and posted a wanted note on freecycle and then spent 2hours reading posts and missed tea and should have been doing ebay!
I get sidetracked on here very easily!!

I am not very good at staying on track that is why I love this thread and all you guys and ESPECIALLY PIGPEN'S LIST!!!!

I dont really know what I am trying to say..... does anyone know how to help me!
Its being disciplined about time management I think!!

sorry for the long post -(on a saturday too !!)

    toots xx

  • If that's you, just take a minute or two to drop into the Moneysaver's Arms. Click on a thread called "Britain's dirtiest tenant?" or take a shorcut to posts by 'paintpot'.

Prepare to find your supper feeling very unsettled or, at the very least, console yourself that if you think your standards of housework are not up to the standards of the paragon next door, (hopefully) you are nowhere near the level shown in that thread!

I ran out of exclamation marks and I'm quite sure I won't be the only one.

Toots - timebox things - it's the only way! Say to yourself I'll spend 30 minutes on this then stop.
    Write lists and prioritise.
Stick rigidly to the lists for a while.
If necessary, set an alarm clock for half an hour from when you start something then stop as soon as it goes off.

(says she who is doing a late dinner because she got engrossed :o )

Toots thanks or your concern, we do have gas but it's not hooked up as I try to use as little of my power as possible, unfortunately I think it's related to this gastly cold.

I've just got back from club house, had a pint (won't drink any more as I have the boys) which hopefully will help me sleep. DS2 emptied the key rings from a machine in the arcade so that'll give me a way of sorting the keys :D need to put his bed out yet which involves putting this table down, moving cushions etc and I can't be bothered :o but will have to soon, might see if I can train him to do it himself.

Mobile BB isn't playing nicely tonight. So will have to keep my replies short but sweet x

I do feel guilty a lot, flylady thread (and the flyladies) help me through it and feel a bit less guilty because other messy bu**ers are on that thread too who have a tip like mine :D

    My tips

Try to concentrate on what you do achieve instead of what you don't

Accept your not superwoman/man and get all the help you can

Create a place for everything, as without a place it can't be put away

Do little and often instead of huge gut wrenching bursts which just demotivate when they are done when things are extremely bad
