I was feeling a bit down, but the rain stopped for a couple of hours, and I took my mother-in-law's little dog out for a long walk. Walked about 5 miles, and the sun more or less showed itself for a few miniutes. The little dog's a mongrel, so it's tough as anything and doesn't have any of the hereditary problems that the high and mighty pedigree ones have. It runs around like crazy after the squirrels and does all this on 80 grams of tesco dog food a day. So, you can fuel this dog up and let it run for £2 a week. No vets bills, as it's a healthy little specimen. I do think that some of the best things in life are free (or in this case £2 a week). No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0

Unfortunately, I have to go out most days and am fed up of wearing a truly, hideous old Boxfresh parka thats 3 years old. It's warm, waterproof and cosy BUT the fake fur speckled trim now looks like bristly old dog hair.
Off up to Leicester tomo, with my flask (as part of my 'Power of One' campaign against coffee shops), sunday papers to read and sandwiches in foil....oh, and a trolley bag on wheels (in stylish royal blue nylon) laden with stuff for the factory.
If anyone is around St Pancras and think 'poor old bag lady'...it may be me living my utterly, totally, glamorous, fashiony life.
The few customers that are around are soggy and depressed. This spate of weather could be the tipping point for some small traders now.0 -

Do you think people would see things in a different light if the weather was better (irrespective of how things actual are) ?
No, don't let the weather get you down!
I spend the weekend in Kent, taking part in an archeological dig. Great weather for ducks, a bit damp for the rest of us.
But if you spend all day digging in the rain, it's absolute bliss to get in, have a hot bath and change into warm clothes, and enjoy the sense of acheivement....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0
