Tesco school shoes lasts 6 year old a day - help?

I same thing happened to my mum-in-law at tescos with shoes.
She had hers two days and they split. She took them back but they said it was there policy not to refund if they have been worn, she asked to speak to the person directly above them, and kept doing that till she got the store manager (i think) he let her swap the shoe's.

If you bought a tv and it broke in a day they would replace it!
By the way which tesco was it?

Always stand your ground, somepeople seen to think it will come out of there pockets if they gave a refund.

mum-in-law pointed out that they shouldn't sell faulty foot wear and shoe should be fit for purpous
