7 How do I do a 'clicky' instead of putting the full URL?
On the image below, follow the numbered steps.

Right click & copy the URL of the comp you want to post.

1. Type the text that you want to be your neat link / clicky, For Example, ‘Hamper Clicky’ on the post & then highlight it. (I also make the word/s bold too at this point so they show up better in the post as a link).
2. Click the icon of a world with a paper clip under it & a box will appear.

Remove 'http://' that is already in the box & then paste the comp URL in. Then click 'OK'. Your neat link / clicky is now done.


8 How can I put a picture in my post?
Once you have found the image that you want, you need to obtain its properties. (Right click the image & select properties). The properties should end in .gif or .jpeg
Highlight & copy the image location, then return to your posting screen on MSE. Put your cursor in the post where you want the picture to appear.

Click the 'insert image' icon & remove the 'http://' text from the box which appears, (as mentioned above) & click 'OK'.

Preview the post first because the picture may be huge & stretch the page which is a bad thing. If the Preview looks OK then when you submit the post should too.

If you end up with a little red cross that is bad as you have hotlinked. It means you have directly linked to an image that the originating site does not want people to link to directly. So you will either need to find another image which isn’t protected against hotlinking or save the image & host it yourself, which is outside the scope of this Guide. There is another Image Guide elsewhere on MSE which goes into the more complex areas further.

Do remember that there are possible copyright restrictions on images on the net & these must be respected.

I think the lack of smilies might be the image server for MSE having some issues it will hopefully sort itself out totally soon as I'm sure the techies already know it is coughing


Well folks, I'm still at home as today is THE day I find out if I am to be made redundant. Feel a bit sick so I'm trying to distract myself with this forum. My appointment at work is 12.15 so that is when I find out. I'll then have to drive back home as we are only allowed in for our appointment slot today (at least it means people won't be there to stare as you go into the room then stare as you come out - just the 2 admin staff). My other colleagues & my manager are saying I have nothing to worry about but they don't actually 'know' the answer & I don't want to get my hopes up as then I've farther to fall if it is me.

Anyway chin up I know there are others on here that are worse off than me at the moment & I'm still thinking of you guys

Well both girls seem to be a lot better now, but my poor Dad seems to be coming down with something now - possibly picked up from my girls!

I feel exhausted & I don't know why, possibly just running round after 2 poorly girls for about 3-4 weeks hasn't helped but at least with 1 back at school now it should get a little easier.

Cuppa & breakfast now I think but don't know what I want yet lol
