I would change bank account to the Coop or Barclays basic. Take all your money out of RSB before you go bankrupt that way it will be safe and you won't have to wonder about it. If asked, you needed it for basic living expenses.

Thanks for the responses.
Dalip-I think with all the worry about the negatives of going BR its only jut starting to dawn on me that there might be a positive side as well, I've not been able to consider leaving the job because basically I couldn't afford to but you're exactly right and it might give me chance for a fresh start with that aswell. Thanks.0 -

were lucky because were in council and were having a new bathroom and kitchen fitted (hopefully only a few weeks away) they give you a disturbance grant so its kind of a free decoration, but I did a preemtive strike and decorated before the work, then I will just do cosmetic and touch up stuff when its all finished.

Blimey, what a day! Have spoken to both CCCS and National Debtline today and the end result is that I'm even more confused (if thats possible!) CCCS didn't really seem to grasp what I was concerned about and kept reiterating that as it stands at the moment my debts aren't that bad and would be clear in 3 years if I continue as I am and that in worrying about the house I'm looking at what might happen and not what is happening cuurently, whilst I can understand this the fact remains that I'm throwing good money after bad in keep repaying the mortgage but she didn't seem to think the OR would see it this way (which might be right). National Debtline seemed slightly more sympathetic to the situation but still felt that I would need to demonstrate beyond all doubt that I cannot afford the mortgage at the moment to satisfy the OR that I had no choice but to allow repo on the house. I can understand all of this and realise that BR is not something to be done to get out of paying debts and as I have said before on paper I can just about afford all my payments each month but it leaves no spare money for contingencies (ie the loo sprang a leak recently and no way could I afford a plumber-nice! had to rely on some diy but god knows how long that will last). I fully understand that I would get an IPA after BR and have no problems with that. I suppose the question is will the OR really take that dim a view of the situation, I realise thats probably anyones guess but just wondered if anyone else had had any similar experiences that they wouldn't mind sharing.
Thanks for reading.0
