  • Roxie - big hugs!!! poor you - sounds like a nightmare but I would recommend putting that kettle on and sitting down for ten minutes with a nice cup of tea. Deep breaths and think of all you have achieved already - you have done so much!

Typical hubby - mine is like that with the car - leaves it to me to take to the garage etc and then complains I've been ripped off whe the repair bills are high! Men!

RoxieW - Bless you!! Take a nice deep breath, get a cup of tea and sit down and gather your thoughts for 5 minutes. A list is a good place to start, and give yourself some realistic deadlines. I am overwhelmed with college work so wrote a list, got stuck in today, and have emerged feeling better and there wasnt as much to do as I had thought ! :D

Regarding the kitchen, that is really bad news :( can you get some more quotes in? Do you know any handy men who could fit it for you thus reducing costs or is it the price of the units? I would be tempted to wait to afford it rather than spending £X on stuff I know I won't like :(

To cheer you up, have a look at Cake Wrecks. It frequently has me in tears of laughter when I'm feeling sad!!! It is a collection of PROFESSIONAL cakes that have been made for people, and have some tragic spelling/understanding/design issues. This is the cake that started the blog http://cakewrecks.blogspot.com/2008/05/cake-that-started-it-all.html LOL :D

thanks ladies - jam that site is wonderful - really put the smile back on my face.

we're going to shop around for more quotes this weekend - so annoying though that thats what we've been doing for the past 2 weeks. trouble is theres too many people involved - a building company has passed us onto a smaller builder which passed us to a trade supplier for our materials - who wont give us prices, will only give them to the builder so we were totally flying blind when choosing things. that on top of the fact that all the bits for kids bedroom are coming tomo and monday when its just me in and theres no room in our tiny hall for it all to go (massive bunk beds/furniture etc) and i cant lug it upstairs to spare room on my own (spare room thats packed with xmas pressies i might add so no room for it all anyway! bunk bed compnay just phoned about delivering on mon between 9 and 12 and when i said i'd be out on school run till about 10 past woman got really stroppy and just kept repeating can someone do the school run for you or house sit? She must have said it about 5 times - every time i said no, its just me, there's noone. in the end she gave a massive sigh and said, i'll see if delivery man can work around it. Its 10 minutes for gawds sake!!!!!
All thats needed now is for OH to make a little comment about something or other and I'll be in floods!
Saying that - i've just stuck a pizza in for the kids - we'll have a takeaway when OH gets home - I really cant be bothered.
And when i said to DS's, 'mummy just cant be bothered. do you ever have one of those days when everything goes wrong?' They both looked at me and went, 'nah, not really.' lol. that cracked me up. kids eh!

aww love kids! aren't they funny! the biggest thing they have to worry about is where the next chocolate bar is coming from! Look at that list! It is looking wonderful! Well done you :D Glad the cakes cheered you up. This is a particular favourite - why would ANY occassion call for one of these cakes?

In better news - our offer has AGAIN been accepted on the house :o. It just needs 10 days to be put in public notices, and they now want a 21 day completion. So everyone keep everything crossed!!!!!!

    Xmas Saver!
I know its not Christmas organisation, but we have had the most brilliant news today.
OUR NEIGHBOURS GOT EVICTED BY THE BALLIFFS............

We have had 18 months of hell and back, I have given 5 sets of witness statements to the courts in relation to thier behaviour, am on 1st name terms with our local C.S.O. to the extent that I dont have to bother asking him does he want a tea of coffee, its ready and waiting, know by voice half the staff at the local police station, that when I have rang up to make a complaint, once I give my name, I dont even have to give the address or the people concerned. I have lost count of the number of police statements I have signed, the abuse I have had, the abuse my dd has had (shes 6),my car trashed, haveing to change home telephone number, change all the mobile numbers for everyone in the house, I even had to give my daughter her own mobile and show her how to ring 999, as what they had threatened to do to her was peadopile, although the police arrested them, as the incident was from a sim card that was not registered to the phone they refused to take further action.

The court order that was put in place in January this year, that got breached over 3,000 times, the times I have ended up in A+E with Asthma attacks from stress, paint fumes and himsetting fire to furniture, and the stuff put through the air vents, lost my Open uni courses, as I could not get time to study, too noisy, and the nervous breakdown I had. Which thank god, I got through, with a lot of support from family, friends and a very gd gp. We were due to go to court next week as witnesses for the Houseing assosiation for his unreasonable behaviour, they wanted reposseion of the house and him fined or commitimal proceedings.

The hardest thing was, as it was to be a court action, and the amount of evidence and complaints the police had, we couldnt talk about it, to anyone outside the house, incase it got leaked back to them.

After all this, the reason for his eviction Rent arrears........the problem we came across at every avenue was you own your house (actually my parenst do, Im disabled and need help sometimes), and he was a tenant with a houseing assosiation.

This may sound daft, but I just wanted to say thank you to a lot of people, (most of them on here, and money neutral etc), as without haveing the net and the threads to pop into have a virtual chat by blogs, and see that there is life, and put suggestions into someone who has a "help I want to be debt free", I think of you all, not as strangers, but as friends I havent met yet.

So please accept a thank you from a very grateful person. Heres to my new start and the freedom to be able to leave my house knowing Im safe.xx
xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx
  • Jamtart - I am sore from laughing at that site! Congratulations on the house!

Well, scrolled back, can't find my list and anyway dont know how you do the crossings out and things............so, here's what I've done (not much)

Wrapped three shoe boxes ready for posting:T
Separate package for one son who wants a calender and book (as well as box !) already for posting:T
Finished tying up baby grandsons pressies with ribbon and put tags on.:T
Bought stamps - just need to put them on christmas cards
Made up three 'pots of gold'.:T ..........youngest foster lad now wants to make three for his sisters...........so found 3 empty jars, he's got the coins and now gone out with his mates !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Have to rearrange teenage grandsons shoe box so things fit in better - best do his dads as well..........looking awful at the minute

Need to go into town for more gold ribbon and something else I forgot (can''t remember what it was............oh..........ink cartridge I think  )

Not happy with my hampers so hoping on Monday the florist will have the christmas cello in she promised...........maybe then they'll look better.

We're off to deliver this lot next Friday so I''ve got to get things done and OH -now curled up on the sofa coughing ad hacking has told me tomorrow will be colder than today..................

I seem to have that many carrier bags and boxes around I'm worrying my socks off that I get to my sons and will have left half of it behind..........

    Oh eck............organised I am not:eek:

I'm creative -you can't expect me to be neat too !
