Well, we finished the first coat of paint in the living room - still have the second coat to finish this week, and then I need to put the trim paint on the baseboard, and then the Christmas tree will get put up when it's all dry. So sometime next weekend hopefully, probably Sunday. We've got the fireplace all sorted, repaired, and cleaned now (finally) - I just need to finish the large cushion that is going over the front hearth (?) brickwork (for when there is not a fire in it) - it's the only way to keep DS from knocking himself senseless - he's an active 2 year old, and for some reason always manages to fall by the fireplace when the huge guard is not there. When we went to a holiday cottage a year ago, the open fireplace had a huge heavy cushion across the front brickwork and DS was fine. Here's hoping it works here at home. We've taken the nasty shelves down in the living room that the former tenant left, and put a nice one above the telly for the phone and internet hub so the kids can't reach it. I'm so pleased we're finally getting this room done - otherwise it wouldn't be ready for Christmas!!

poor u jam - we were house hunting a while back but have given up now. with baby on way i just cant be bothered - last time we bought I was heavily preg and we moved when ds2 was 3 weeks old. Dont fancy repeating it in a hurry.
Just think - everything happens for a reason. If not this house then another one will come along, I promise.
