If you look in the ebay/paypal rules they say that a week is an acceptable time to wait for the item to be posted (not received). So I think you should wait a bit yet.

  • Please do not tell me to feel sorry the seller. She only came out with that load of tosh when I chased the item. If I hadn't of made contact then I would still be in the dark.

So assuming the item was posted within the week then BargainBabe should still have received it by now shouldn't she?

Obviously if the seller had bothered to email to confirm that item was sent on xx day by 1st/2nd class post then the OP could see for herself that the post was likely to be at fault, but not being told whether the item has even now been posted means that there could still be a long wait. I'd be itching to start a chargeback on day 10 I think.

  • I'm going to give until Tuesday then I'm going to email the seller again. I don't really want to make a claim as I'm sure you can only make 2 per year. But if I don't receive it then i'll have no choice :(

I expect all Paypal items to arrive within a few days, although I give a week before chasing. I post same day or next day as reciving the payment.

Regarding E-Cheques - I had one for about £50 so I foillowed Paypal's instructions and waited for it to clear before sending.

If its a smaller amount though I just send before its clear. I regaurly send items before the cheque has arrived if its a cheap one to save 2 trips to the post office. And I still have a cheque from the 23rd September which I havnt paid into my bank account. In fact I have 3 ones with small amounts as I cant be bothered to go to the bank for such a piddling amount. Have been waiting for my Mobile Phone Cahsback Cheques to arrive before paying them all in in one foul swoop!!

Doesn't your bank offer the facility to post cheques to them? It would save a lot of hassle.
Time is an illusion - lunch time doubly so.
  • If the seller " cannot afford the postage" then she has no business selling on ebay. When ebay want their fees for selling the item etc ,is she going to say sorry waiting for the funds to clear into my bank account. I dont think so.

If as Bargainbabe says she is still buying then where is she getting the funds for that.

Would leave her a negative feedback.

It's ok being helpful and reasonable with people, but this seller is taking the P by continuing to purchase at the same time as saying she can't afford to post an item that's she already received payment for? If she hasn't got a spare £5 for the postie then she shouldn't have listed until she's in a positiom to sell properly.

I've had to take a load of stuff to the post office this morning, got a stinking cold, it's -5 degrees and i could have easily have stayed in bed and let the buyers wait a few days........but they've paid for the goods and it's up to me to get them dispatched asap.

A neg might be too much (no matter how annoyed you feel) because the seller
will have fulfilled the contract but underperformed on her part.
I'd leave her a poor neutral, repeating the seller's own reasons for stalling (assuming the goods arrive OK). It might speed her up for the next time she sells.

    Hi
Sometimes a paypal payment, goes through as an E Cheque, I have never figured it out, I am a seller and I get about 2 e check paypal payments a month, they take about 7 to 10 days to clear, it could be that
  • Hi all,

Just to confirm again it didn't go through as an E cheque. It was money from my balance.

I have received the item today thank gawd, not impressed with it being 2 and half weeks late but hey ho.

    Now feedback..hmmmm....

Thanks everyone for the advice :)
