Help- I'm confused by sellers email

I emailed the seller to ask when she would be sending me my item that I paid for via Paypal last friday. I get this back:

"Hey, i will post yuor suit very soon. i am just waiting for your funds to go into my bank account (i have it in paypal but am waiting for it to switch) as its near christmas , im completely broke until it comes through. Thanks

Why the hell would she do this?! She has my money, why can't she send the item?

Any advice welcome :(

  • I had same problem a couple of months ago. bought a baby walker on BIN paid imediately then waited for delivery. after a week and no sign i messaged seller to be told the same. i eventually received it 3 weeks after paying. i was so mad as the only reason i got one on buy it now was because i needed it quickly.
  • I think that she's saying the she doesn't have cash for the postage!

Well, that depends on how sympathetic you are feeling. ;)
  • well I'm an impatient buyer and I don't like waiting longer than 7 working days for items paid for by paypal. I know it sounds bad, but the fact that she's skint isn't my problem is it? I start work on Monday and I need the suit. if I knew what i know now then I wouldn't of placed a bid. Would of probs of been quicker to pay by cheque or postal order..only she only accepts Paypal!

The seller should have told you if the item was to be delayed (which it is, as far as I am concerned). She didn't. She also gave a pathetic excuse for the delay. She certainly doesn't deserve a positive.
Time is an illusion - lunch time doubly so.

All you can really do is start a chargeback if it hasn't arrived in 7 days. It probably isn't worth the agro, though. I would let the seller know you're not happy, but I don't think you can make any demands. Hopefully she will leave feedback first, hint hint.
  • iconPos_16x16.gifVery fast payment -- Thanks very much A*****************

Ha, she has. Shame she doesn't know the meaning of "fast"

Her not having money for postage is not your problem. I would have been mortified if a seller sent me that email.
You can either do a chargeback, or if you really want the suit, wait until it arrives and leave appropriate feedback to warn other potential buyers..

Yes I have to say I was taken aback by it and disappointed. It's a new one for me and I'm not impressed!
