Eighteen months ago I bought one from Dabs for £350, for the bedroom, but was appalled at the poor picture. Mainly what I call motion blurring when objects moving around the picture.
Have TVs like this improved in the last 18 months and what would I need to pay to get one with an acceptable picture. When I asked 18 months ago I was told over £1,000 which is more than the benefit would be worth.

Something like this for £470: http://www.play.com/Electronics/Electronics/4-/3316835/Sony-Bravia-32-KDL-32S3000U-HD-Ready-Freeview-Widescreen-LCD-TV/Product.html
You can get cheaper but I believe the Sony Bravia's to be excellent quality and perform particularly well, when compared with the competition, when displaying non Hi Definition (HD) content which is important for day to day watching. I have the slightly more expensive 32D3000 model but my Brother-In-Law has the one linked above.0 -
I got an email this morning about this TV:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Toshiba-32AV504-Widescreen-Ready-Freeview/dp/B0012Z1FOC/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1220632025&sr=8-1
And I thought it looked pretty nice for £364.99 (with free delivery of course).
Paying £1,000 today for a 32 inch TV would be insane.0 -
Thought this thread deserved a mention, seeing as no one has commented, from the grabbits.

You're not interested in plasma? Much better PQ, you can get nice ones for 400-4500

Hannspree are carp - yes people will come on and say theirs is amazing etc but if you've got eyes that work then you will notice the difference in quality by paying for a better brand and a better model.0

Thanks for all the useful replies.
One other query is that I see most, if not all, the TV's on show are showing a HD picture so am I in order to ask them to show it me without the HD feed?A retired senior partner, in own agency, with 40 years experience in property sales & new build. the sonys, samsungs, hitachis and the panasonics are all pretty good.
