Countrywide is a national firm, and I'd be interested to know the branch, please, when you get the information. If the property is not on the land reg yet that may explain his figures, but it seems odd of him not to have enquired what your transaction went through at. Perhaps he had an off day.
Pass mate, but perhaps if I got him round next month, the news may not have as good.
Would they realy just base prices on the last sold price +/- whatever.
Makes a bit of a mokery of the system. i would have valued it for them otherwise and saved £XXX.:)

I'm sorry, but this thread is nth more than gloating by someone who may or may not have bought a home for a 'good price'.
Well done for securing a home for your family, I mean that. Be honest though, the only reason you're here is try and justify your purchase - nothing wrong with that, it's a lot of money. But the fact that the majority of members disagree with your point of view leaves you threatening to leave with a sob stories about how horrible ppl are.
But considering most people on this thread are trying to disprove, what I have said or to have a go at me. I think I would have a valid point on some of my previous posts. You still treat me with contempt even when I am fair and inoffensive.
What have I done wrong exactly! surley the basis of most peoples arguments is that they want cheaper houses. If no one buys and drives down prices how is it going to happen!

I think most ppl on this forum believe that prices will continue to drop, and that puts them in a different camp to you. They may well be wrong, who knows?

I have no contempt for you, I just think your first post in this thread is unnecessarily gloating. But that's my personal opinion, and I may be alone in thinking that.

Valuations are just numbers, theres no way you will get more than what you paid for it as everyone has access to house prices on the web, new builds lose value the day you move in as the "newness is a premium"

I completed on a new build property today, I got a healthy discount, In fact in percentage terms a bigger discount than 90k off 340K which is just over 25% but I don't see it as a discount. I just see it as stripping away the overinflated ticket price.

As long as its a good deal for you and you can afford it thats all that matters.

    Mine is worse.

The computer does no such thing for me (not that it would help if it did).

I used to be a spelling and grammar nut too..:o and get frustrated with poverty of vocabulary, but my difficulties have made me vastly more understanding of others.

I'm using the new Google Chrome browser at the moment, and very good it is too by the look of things. It has a spell checker which I'm finding quite handy so far.
