There is so much salt and all sorts of nasty additives etc. in bought crisps, so i hope some of these tips help.
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.
  • I made a huge bowl of these tonight and loved them! Don't know why i never thought of it before, so simple and so quick. Altho admittedly mine wasnt all that good for you due to having lots of salt on them (im pregnant and craving salt...i know i know lol) But i will definately be making more tomorrow, thanks!
  • As this has fallen from the front page of OS, I'll add it to the existing thread.

You may find other recipes here - microwave crisps ;)

    I have tried several times
    http://allrecipes.com//Recipe/potato-chips/Detail.aspx

    and they stick each time.
Have oiled the dish and 'crisps' in a bag before zapping
Have tried olive oil, sunflower oil and rapeseed oil.
Tried a plate and an old shallow Pyrex dish.

They taste really yummy when I've scrapped them off but can't see my lot being impressed with mm wide bits!

Any ideas where I'm most likely to be going wrong please, or a different way of cooking them without frying.

I've not tried this myself, but there are lots of tips for you in this thread :) I'll merge it later to keep ideas together.

  • How to make crisps.

Thinly slice potato, place on a plate with fry light.....
....put in the microwave for 6 mins.............
    ......and you have crisps!

This is how my friend makes them for slimming world, she says that they are really nice. Not personally tried them and obviously add optional seasoning to suit personal taste
