I have DLA, so get a free bus pass. But on bad days I'm too tired to go anywhere and on good days the bus is full of old pensioners coughing their lungs up !!!!0

Since cars became relatively cheap to buy, following the european commissions investigation on car price fixing in the U.K., the main dealers ( to be known from now on as main stealers!) have massively raised the price of `servicing` making you believe that the trade-in price on your `full service history` car will be protected. Total, absolute b*ll*cks. Never, NEVER, buy a car brand new. As soon as you have the keys the secondhand value has dropped by 20%.
Each `service`costs an absolute fortune, and they only LOOK at it. Then when you go to trade-in they offer you half of the book value. New car buying is a COMPLETE rip off. You will get a better second hand car for the same value as a new cheaper car. For example, a 4 yr old Volvo V40 in Blackberry with aircon and heated seats for around £5000 has got to be better value than a new bloomin` Perodua - surely!
We have several very good private garages around here that charge around £20 to £30 per hour labour not the ludicrous main stealer charges of around £55 - £65 per hour.0 -
You're in luck! Mature women are much in demand with young guys these days. I've just turned 60 and have half a dozen of them, half my age! Now that I've retired, I also have the time to give them my full attention!0

I've been on HRT for 20 years now and don't intend to ever stop! It does wonders for your libido and sex life, keeps your skin looking young and makes you feel great!seven-day-weekend wrote:I have not had any HRT as I have not had very many symptoms and I always think you can't keep replacing the hormones for ever, so best not to start unless absolutely necessary.
My sister is 73 and still on HRT!
I would not want to do that for twenty years.0 -
I was lucky (?) enough to be bombarded with free monthly SAGA magazines (plus pleas to take out an annual subscription) as soon as I'd turned 50. Sometimes the mags contain reasonably interesting articles ...
... and there are ALWAYS plenty of ads for incontinence aids, support hosiery, stair lifts, wigs, ejector seats etc.0 -

We're really pleased with our eight-year-old Seat Alhambra; we took it for its ITV in Spain(MOT) and here, if cars are old and just scrape through they get six months MOT; if they are newish and just scrape through they get one year; if they pass with flying colours, whatever age they are they get two years.
I'm delighted to say ours got two years!
We bought a 3 year old car from a Sunwin dealer -- they are Coop. If we have them do our service on the required schedule, it has a continuous warranty.0 -

Nothing wrong with my libidio or sex life, my skin's always been good and still is and I feel better that I'm not filling myself full of hormones (no offence to those that take HRT). My hair is better than it's ever been.(AKA HRH_MUngo)

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton0 -
The best sites I've found for discounts for people over 50 are-
UK - http://www.seniorsdiscounts.co.uk
USA - http://www.seniordiscounts.com
I haven't seen these sites mentioned in this post so if they have I apologise for the repeated info.0
