    £4,500 in a week?

I like spending myself, but that much? I'd need a long think to how you'll change her if you've let her spend that much.

    My problem exactly!!

Fair enough, I don't begrudge spending money on her but that was just hugely excessive and meant I saw nothing for all the work I had been doing!!

She agrees we need to save (to try and finally get on the property ladder) but what she says and what she does are two completely seperate things!

That's all well and good (and I'm not knocking you or her by the way :)), but I think the answer to your problem lies in point 5 of your opening post ;)

Can't you explain how important it is to get on the property ladder? And how much more of you she'll see if you work less than 60 hours a week? And that no-one needs to spend 100's on cosmetics per month?

I've tried explaining, I'm now trying to convince her to read Martins new book!

How do you curb someone's spending?

Without taking total control - she does need some freedom after all, think it'll be simply pocket money each now.

was being sarcastic in my 2nd statement... :)

why don't u talk direct to her?

I'm not sure if zinc realised that but I did :) And if so much money's being spent on new underwear - I'd leave the lights on too :D
