The Air France flight from LAX to LHR is good though (I flew it in April), its a modern 777, seatback entertainment with a mix of TV & Radio channels and some on demand features (though not the same selection as on the BA or Virgin systems). Its not like a KLM flight and the food was acceptable too so it should be ok0 -
I have to agree that the LHR - LAX flight on AF is very good indeed and in my opinion, having flown alot, better than other airlines. You'll even get a free glass of champagne in Economy, and the foods pretty good too, plenty of it (they set up self service area in theback galley for food and drinks....). I wish everyone a great trip!0

I have read reviews on trip advisor and it seems to be an ok hotel. Short bus journey into Manhattan but also lots of restaurants, diners and a couple of malls close at hand.

Hey, you cheapskates!!
I'm flying NWA to Detroit later this week having booked early, and it cost us over £800 for two return tickets. I'm gnashing my gnashers after reading your 'deals.'
Well done , by the way.
I'll have to look out next year, that is if these sales are a regular thing..0 -

I was really talking about the general decline in standards and whilst I accept KLM are worse than AF, it is only marginal..... But with AF I have to transit via CDG rather than Schiphol, so KLM win hands down overall.
A pet hate of mine is the "Sweet or Savoury" that KLM introduced on city hops and the fact that staff will simply ask, "sweet or savoury?" which as you probably know when translated into Englih means, "Todays infight catering consists of a chocolate biscuit (sweet) or a Tuc biscuit (savoury)". To be honest, nothing is better than that choice, however AF on city hops do of course give you a choice of reasonabe rolls.
Another pet hate of mineis the current mentality on anything even close to a night flight. These days the staff are hell bent on getting into the air, serving the food ASAP, dimming the lights and then going and hiding until an hour before landing. It used to be the case that staff would identify and cater for passengers who may not wish to sleep, so they would regularly do circuits of the plane and ask if you needed anything... Nowadays with KLM and AF you have to go find the staff if you want another Tea/Coffee/Drink.
As for the 777-200ERs and 300ERs in both KLM and AF's fleet, yes they are better equipped than some older aircraft, but I always have the same issue in that the seat back was designed and contoured to fit someone with a curved spine. The MSE Dictionary

Off this wednesday. LHR to MSP and then MSP to Orlando. Return is via Detroit for no known reason. All flights with NWA. Flights have moved a couple of times but nothing too extreme.
Only slightly annoying thing is that the info on movies etc on NWA site has now disappeared and instead you have to go to Delta site, they've merged. Before hand NWA showing around 15-20 movies which I presumed was seatback video channels. Delta showing info on only 2-3 films per flight.0 -
My inbound flights changed and then the outbound flights changed, so I asked for and got a refund. Some have had great trips though.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0
