  • Wow, what spin.

The wound/injury? A broken wrist. After jumping out of a wagon.

This sounds like he's making a martyr of himself - was that the only hotel in the area? He had a car, could he not drive to another?

This sensationalism is the sort of stuff you'd expect to find in the Daily Mail, not on the BBC.

So have the hotel said why they turned him away?
Still a small story to generate such a lot of interest.
Man turns up at hotel and doesn't get in
Hang on - he wasn't Jesus was he?
Yup, immediately above your post you'll find the answer.

I'll bet none of the supporters of this hotel's disgraceful conduct have actually been in the forces. Don't forget Kipling:
For it's Tommy this, an' Tommy that, an' "Chuck him out, the brute!"
    But it's "Saviour of 'is country" when the guns begin to shoot;

Your point appears to have changed from

to the above post. My point is that there is a good reason for soldiers being excluded from places like hotels, namely they belong to a group of people who have been identified as having a greater than average chance of causing trouble to the hotelier. That is the soldier stereotype, that is the good reason for soldiers not being allowed into some hotels. You are agreeing with me that the soldier stereotype is true, therefore that is the reason for exclusion you were looking for in your earlier post.

The thing about stereotypes is they are not realistic, if you beleive a stereotype you are being ignorant. You cannot exclude people because of a stereotype. Besides that where is your research that soldiers have been identified as a group more likely to be involved in violent acts, was it a Goverment sponsored study??

I think your thought process is very shallow.

Never mind though you obviously are speaking from a position of no knowledge of the subject.

If I told you of some of the government sponsored violence I have been involved in you would be horrified, but that violence was fine apparently because men in suits said it was ok!!

Iam not a danger to anybody, I just dont get your point.

While very informative, I fail to see how it negates any of the point I made in the post you quoted.
    Conjugating the verb 'to be":
-o I am humble -o You are attention seeking -o She is Nadine Dorries

The post above mine suggests they turned him away because he was a soldier but not why they did this.
I am interested to know their reasoning

EDIT - I see the hotel has a "no military personnel policy" if that is not some form of discrimination (and I don't know if it is or isn't) then they can do what they like

Friend of a friend stories don't carry that much authority you know.
It wasn't a friend of a friend story, Ruggedtoast heard the story first hand from the guy who witnessed the murder.

I would not be in the least bit suprised and can assure you that I have known/do know enough ex/serving military personnel to know exactly what they are capable of..... and that is regardless of whether or not they were given the thumbs up to do so by a man in a suit!

Whats your point. We are all capable of doing evil things, bad things illegal things. You have no idea do you!

My point is because you are trained to kill doesnt mean you will or have no ability to restrain or use discretion. Of course soldiers are capable of killing that is there ultimate job unfortunately, have you ever experienced it!! seen a mans spine blown out or a head disintigrate, I doubt it. I have I know others who have experienced such things extremely close up. I have never met a soldier who has taken any pleasure from killing, You will never understand, we enjoy our freedoms today because they were fought for in horrendous wars in which extreme violence was used on our behalf, you pay your taxes which by bullets and bombs which servicemen use, I suggest if you feel so strongly about violence stop paying your taxes be arrested and criminalised because of it, do some time in prison for you legitimately held beliefs, come out unable to get a job turn to crime and join the violent masses!!!!
