Today ive recieved two emails from them (one for each account) asking me to reply to their recent letter(which i never recieved!!)
Do they honestly think im going to voluntarily contact them?? They still haven't sent me a valid CCA that i requested back in August 2008. They should think themselves lucky im still paying them at all!!0 -
I posted in this thread back in september ish last year, after receiving a few letters from 1st credit demanding payment for a debt from quickquid.co.uk( a debt that had nothing to do with me) I sent off a prove it letter someone linked me to and after a letter from 1st credit stating that they had received it, i then heard nothing else until today.
I've now received a letter direct from quickquid stating:
Anybody have an opinion on what to do next? I'm as loathe to ring these guys as i was to ring 1st credit. The debts clearly nothing to do with me so my thoughts are, why should i bother ringing them?
Any opinions? Thanks!
Been while since ive posted, but having heard nothing for quite a while, i recently check my credit file, only see that ive apparently got defaults against my name, and they appear to be linked to the problems i was having with quickquid demanding payments for a loan i know nothing about.
Suffice to say im incredibly !!!!ed off about this!
The details in my credit report are as follows(minus a few bits of personal info):
Lender name: CashNETUSA
Accountholder status: Normal
Start date: 9th April 2008
End Date: 30th July 2008
Account type: Budget account
Account status: Default
Last updated: 1st January 2009
Current balance: £0
Opening balance: £474
Account start date: 9th April 2008
Account end date: 30th July 2008
Repayment frequency: Monthly
Default date: 30th July 2008
Original default balance: £474
Term balance: £0
Default satisfied date: 30th July 2008
I know its not strictly related to this threads original purpose, but since my problems all originated with first credit, Does anyone know the route i need to take to get these defaults removed?
Many thanks.0 -
My husband is receiving calls from this agency, at times my sons answer the phone and as my eldest som shares the same name as my husband he has been spoken to in a not very nice way. They call back constantly, so far my hubby has not called them back. They say that the call is urgent and he is to call immediately. it is a credit card debt, and have to admit that he does owe the debt. When he spoke at first to them (a few months ago) they demanded £400 immediatley and payments of £200 or else, he explained that he could not afford that and they said it was company policy. the thing is that I am considering not paying the mortgage for the next three months to pay these people off. the total debt is no more than £1800.what do we do???? helo ...........0

Hi
I've had dealings with these bullys and you have to stand firm and pay ONLY WHAT YOU CAN AFFORD TO PAY.
You keep paying your mortgage, do not stop paying your mortgage or council tax or utilities. Your home is your priority not 1st Credit
Write to them and say you will pay £x per month until the debt is cleared and also say that you will only respond to letters and that there are to be no more phonecalls.I'm Debt Free :j 2/09/2013

Hi Thanks eyeopener for your reply - do we ask for a copy of the CCA and is it possible that they will be prepared to reduce the debt as I have seen written in the thread before? I am concerned because as a family we have enough to live on, if my hubby fills in an I&E form, then it will show that he does not have the money to pay it back, and if he says that I will pay it will i become joint and several in respect of this debt? the bank have added hundreds of pounds in late payment charges to this account and as a result the credit card went over its limit, then hey presto as you can imagine they then charged him for being over limit as well, almost £30 per month in charges plus the interest. what can we do0

I really want to pick up with my CCA request sent almost two years ago. Thing is, things are quiet so should i rock the boat? one the otherhand i could be using the money to pay off someone else with a legimate CCA.
Not sure how go about resuming this though.0 -
We got two letters from 1st credit today - regarding DH's Santander credit card debt. Prior to this, we had received nothing from Santander stating they had sold the debt to a DCA. Obviously they have the details from the account. Is this a separate DCA or part of Santander? Do we now pay 1st credit our monthly payment or continue to pay Santander until we hear further from Santander?? Soooo confusing!MSE mum of DS(7), and DS(4) (and 2 adult DCs as well!)DFW Long haul supporters No 210:snow_grin Christmas 2013 is coming soon!!! :xmastree:0

Bumping this thread back up again!
It had all been very quiet from these guys for over 18 month until now. I removed them from my DMP ages ago and haven't paid them a penny since.
All I had previuosly received have been yearly statements and the occasional offer of a 70% reduction in the debt if I pay it off in one go!
However, they've now past my account onto their alter-ego Connaught Collections to try and push the pressure back on. Usual letters have started again, with the standard threat of court action.
Sticking to my guns though, not paying them anything anymore. I actually want them to take me to court so I can get this sorted once and for all!!!
My other debts are reducing nicely and should be paid off within 5 years!!!:j:j:j You should have accepted my DMP 1st Credit!!!! UNLUCKY!!! Ha Ha Ha :rotfl::rotfl:
