I get a funny feeling that Citi have been shovelling old debts off to DCA knowing that theyare prob not enforceable and getting the benefits in the Balance Sheet when they need it.....hiding the evidence in all the other 'sub prime' mullarky

The trouble is that SDs do not have to be issued via a court, they can just download a template from a web-based library for a few pence and fill it in and it is legal.

Most of the time it is just a frightener, but there is the famous CAG case where they bankrupted someone who did not even know. He got it all reversed because they had not followed due process and they did not have the CCA either. Ist crudit got their knuckles rapped by the judge for that one.

I have noted that a number of these DCAs use old addresses for all the legal paperwork, but once the CCJ, charging order or whatever is issued, they suddenly discover the debtor's new address, at which they have been living for years.

  • Recieved a letter today from their complaints department. Basically outlining the procedure to make a formal complaint upon which they will investigate further.
  • Letter today from CCCS saying that 1st Credit has refused payment plan. Is this normal?? Can they add charges, interest etc??

CCCS said they will just keep sending payments as before. Looks like 1st Credit are not willing to play ball.

Yes, this is normal from Worst Crudit. However, keep paying them and they eventually accept. They always say that they don't accept instalments - well, tough! They've been accepting payments from me for the last 6 months. Just gotta keep going at them and they do eventually accept.

Incidentally, my mates who live close to them said the lovely Worst Crudit are advertising for collections agents. They would like people who deal with the public in a sympathetic manner and with understanding.....what...? My mates thought I'd like a laugh! The money is rubbish so they obviously work on commission.

Yeah, they do operate on commission. I wish I lived closer or could afford a month off, I'd apply. Maybe we should contact 'Rogue Traders' Matt Albright and see if they want to do a hidden camera programme?

Well, I could apply for a job there as I'm not too far away, however, I have too many morals and couldn't deal with people in that way...although, it would be fun to go along to one of their "sympathetic way to treat customers" training courses!

Appartently they do "accept" a repayment plan if it pays the debt off in 7 years. They refused to accept my DMP payment cos it would take about 16 years to pay off. They tried to get me to pay more by thretening the usual - court, charging order, bankrupty blah blah blah!!!! I've since wised up to them. They haven't sent me the CCA as requested - well not a complete one, and have only another 2 weeks until the 12+2+30 days are up. I've been so P****d off with them, i'm gonna try and have the debt legally written off as unenforceable and then concentrate on paying the creditors who have been understanding and co-operative.

    Cocker:)
