I understand what you are saying and kind of agree but at what age would you like to be told what to spend your own money on.
I do think that the premium phone lines should not be allowed and that postage should be capped by weight perhaps.
I bought the necklace that went to a £1 and will see if they honour it, if they do I will be on the look out for other genuine bargains or misprices but other than that I would stay well clear.0 -
I'm in Financial Services and if I get a client that is over 65, we HAVE to ask them if they want a family member present during the discussion.
It sucks - but that's the Government/FSA's idea of good practice!
A lot of older people are far more money wise than youngsters. However saying that, the fact remains that it is the older people who buy the tat off the TV and not the youngsters.
I say that if they've got spare money for a pot dog or a gemstone globe (or an investment bond or a life assurance policy) then let them spend it.
However, if the senility of the old person worsens then the responsibility of the family should surely increase in line too.
If they want to sell cheap tat that's fine. If they want to sell expensive tat that's fine too but with premium phone lines & extortionate postage, some people wont know how much they're actually paying in total for a biduptv item. So that's where my problem lies.0
