I love all those 'designer' brands they keep flogging. Bruno Ravioli handbag anyone?
The fridge is empty, the walls are damp, there's no hot water

Oh come on, does nobody watch bid.tv for the fun of it.. it's usually absolute tat but oh dear god i've laughed so hard at peter simon...

    Not bad £1 + P and P for a Sony Ericcson W310i

I have to agree with you, Peter Simon is the only reason I watch it! :)

  • It is amusing to watch but almost all of the products I've bought from them have had to be returned, and then I had to fight for my postage back on goods that were faulty (they don't give it back automatically)!

I got a large floor rug for £30 (incl. p&p) once, which was good value, but it's really hit and miss and I've now banned myself from buying anything else from them.
Before you judge a man, walk a mile in his shoes. After that who cares? He's a mile away and you've got his shoes.

ISorry but had nightmare trying to get elderly relative to stop calling and bidding on these types of channels. She was convinced she was getting 'bargains' (based on RRP's which I think are shown in the old Italian Lira with a '£' sign stuck in front instead! ) Once you add up the cost of call and P&P she was getting some awfully expensive TAT!

The start prices are a hoot, and £7.99 postage for a memory card is a bit ruthless...
    "Love you Dave Brooker! x"

"i sent a letter headded sales of god act 1979"
  • Thanks for the post OP, I've had a few things from them in he past and they have all been fine. Ppostage is a bit steep but if you calculate this into your costs, the you can get a bargain sometimes. Shame on all those for slaggin off the OP - Don't watch/bid/buy if you don't want to!

Nobody was " slaggin " off the OP, just expressing their opinions on this oufit.
  • Its worth watching it just for charlie mcardle, he is so tongue in cheek.

Might be worth making a list of items people have found to be a bargain on bidtv/pricedroptv/speedauctiontv (all sister channels). I'd vote for 10-14 piece Egyptian cotton towel bales at 10-15 pounds plus about 8 pounds postage. These come up every few months in large quantities and then in dribs and drabs on the website. Quality is pretty good on these and Christys towels even sometimes come up.

I see garden cherubs etc in the pound shops all the time! How much was the postage again? About £7.99?

Glad you brought this up elfmay there is a consumer programme called X ray in wales and they featured a elderly lady who bought something like £1000+ of stuff from the channels and it just highlighted a whole heap of problems with the network. The deals you will find on there can be beaten if you do your homework on-line someone should really regulate more tightly these sorts of channels.
  • can you bid (free? we are MSE, BTW!) online?
Long time away from MSE, been dealing real life stuff..
Sometimes seen lurking on the compers forum :-)
