  • Morning all

My peace has been shattered. OH has come home from work and put the radio on in the kitchen and upstairs. Why do they do that:confused: ?

Blowing a gale and raining here today. Hope I'm going to get some ripe tomatoes soon.

LYNDSEYANN That is extortionate, I don't know how they can justify any of it.
PENPIN I agree, small children and cleaning don't go, there comes a time when they are up and mobile and I'm sure you don't want that.

    Happy Birthday MASTER PIXIE.

Have cooked chicken soup in the SC overnight. Will stick it in the freezer when it's cooled down. Need to do some baking today, DS fancies scones in his lunchbox. Thought I would freeze some of them for later. Have 2 more days before he's back at school. Am really looking forward to it, as I want to de-clutter his room!

Big hugs to all who may need one.

    Have a good day all.

    Hello everyone,

Just a flying visit for me atm. DH is with DGS watering. I was asked to have him tonight as XDIL & OS are going to a concert. I have DGS Wed & Thurs night as well so I probably won't be on as much. Will read the thread tonight when he's asleep. I went shopping this morning. Made a loaf of bread & some cereal when I got back.

Making progress on my top. I hope to do some in the morning when DGS goes to play group. So far so good. :D Progress on the road is coming along. Just heard today it's going to be a cement road instead of bitumen so that's even better. Off to make DH pack up and sort tea out. We've been outside most of the afternoon watching tip trucks, rollers, diggers etc as well as the council boys with their shirts off. :D

Hope you all have a lovely day & (hugs) to those that need them. Byeeeeeeeeeeee
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)

    I've been Money Tipped!
    :hello: Good Morning!

Very rainy and overcast here but it's not going to get me down just yet, I have lots of chutney to make, was given lots of plums from Mr C's boss and still have marrows (overgrown courgettes - ooops!) and windfall apples to be used up, so should keep me occupied for most of the day.

We are still :j at having managed to make the 10% payment allowed in one year to bring down the mortgage, it did hurt a bit when we handed over £8500 as we knew it could be used in so many other ways but it makes sense to follow our goal of clearing the mortgage before dh retires. Now we have to find the next 10% £7650 by next August - so far £15 lol! :rotfl: but you have to start somewhere don't you!

Happy Birthday to Master Pixie :bdaycake: Have a super day!

((((Hugs)))) to PP, Redruby, Smoky, mrs mix and all who could use a hug

Good luck to all the children going back to school and (((hugs))) to the Mums

Penny - you reminded me of my famous (in the family) apple toffee disaster:o - dh still laughs about that!

Right back to the chutney after one more :coffee:

    Morning all,

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MASTER. MIX and TWINK'S DGS. _party_ _party_
LAMEWOLF, Good luck at the hosp.
CHRISCA, Hope you hear about the Deeds you left behind.
BEMUSED, Hope DS is getting better.
LYNDSYANN, Ouch, that's a lot of money to have to pay the con merchants.
SILVERCHARMING, Glad someone remembered Ronux, yes if the lid is left off it cracks and goes hard, I put some linseed oil on a cloth and leave it in the tin with the lid on and it softened up. Waste not want not eh.

Plan to paint the walls today and gloss the windows, I'm not doing much more as I had a bad nights sleep, will sit and clean brass candle sticks and other stuff.

Phoned DB2 last night, he had his kids stay at the w/e for regatta. He didn't tell them about his Melanoma, sais he didn't know how to.
He's having more tests for something called Asteroid growths, growths that break away from the Melanoma and appear overnight, never heard of that before. Might google it.

Bright and sunny here, hope it stays dry as DF is starting to paint the exterior of the 2nd house we rent out. I feel guilty paying for it to be done but I honestly don't think I'm up to it and when DH paints it looks like he's used a fork.

    Have a good day all.
  • Hi, just wanted to throw a question out there,

does anyone else find OS really tiring sometimes

I was thinking about it today after work, that I can understand how people give into convience food/ so called super cleaners etc or anything that they think will give them less work, such as paper towels as opposed to cleaning rags.

But then to get it into perspective, if you take a look at what they had to do years ago, hand washing/ sewing own clothes/ making butter/ candles etc, then we still have it easy comparitively :rotfl:

This week I am just SOOO tired and it is only Tuesday here, I have a lot of work I need to do this week and I can't seem to rouse myself to it.

Actually, I can find the energy to do most of the OS stuff, surprisingly because I enjoy it more and find it satisfing, but I can't be bothered to do the work I have bought home with me lol

Oh, dear, blah blah blah I go, have a great day everyone

Morning, lovely weather oop norf...I've just pegged my washing out :D

Long list of jobs for today, so I'd better get a shift on then I can go fruit picking this afternoon, let's hope it stays fine.

No idea about tea yet, Mr Twit had a bit of an upset tummy, so nothing too adventurous I think.

Love and hugs to all The Twit :grouphug:

ps...pen-pin, I wouldn't be impressed about having a 1 year in the house when I'm fighting fit, let alone under the weather.

Zoe - i find it not so much tiring as time-consuming because, once you start being OS, it's hard to stop and take some time off without feeling guilty. I spend a lot more time these days food-prepping, especially veggies and, because I also do puddings, I have to prep for them, too! The upside is that I work from home so can plan my time - I don't know how those who work outside the home manage; it must be a nightmare. The real bonus is knowing that you are saving money and living a healthier lifestyle plus not feeding the profits of vast companies. I do take the odd day off and insist on fish and chips from the chippie, though!

Lyndseyanne - I don't know how I missed your earlier post but I am so angry on your behalf at the clamping charges! Surely, they had no right to tow the car away so soon?! You and your DH must be absolutely fuming.

RedRuby - hope you are feeling better. I'm glad you had a good night's sleep - that will help you get better more quickly.

Good luck to all those who are going back to school today and all those who are starting for the very first time! My DS2 has an in-house interview for a higher-paid job in the company he works for so we are keeping fingers crossed. He was recommended for the position so all the signs are good.

Well, it's a truly horrible day here - wet and windy and very dark. I hate having the lights on but I've no choice today.

Well, off to do some more chores.

    See you all later.
