PenPin - special (((hugs))) to you; please post however you are feeling. We love reading your posts.
I'm surprised your carer even asked about bringing a young child with her. It is asking a lot of someone in your situation.
I'm pleased you are enjoying your Remoska - they're great, aren't they? I get so annoyed if I have to put my main oven on nowadays but occasionally I can't get every part of a meal in the Remoska and have no choice. I shall have to tailor more meals that will avoid the main oven going on! I'm doing the shepherd's pie in it tonight which was a great success last time I made it.
Take care of yourself, Pen.

Hi everyone, got up at 5.45am to a very wet and dark MK and it is still raining now hope it will stop soon, seems like the summer has well and truly gone now. Got sausages and mash tonight, feel like we need something hearty. Getting the urge to make lots of homemade veggie soup at the weekend if it continues like this. Think I will be packing away my summer clothes. Take care and duddles to everyone.0

Morning all,
wind & rain here tooGlad I did so much in the garden yesterday now.
Lamewolf, thinking of you today. Don't forget your notes - and give yourself a little treat after.
Redruby - an ideal day to stay in bed & do nothing, which is what you need. Keep taking the tablets...
Stef, colleagues like that are a nightmare. I'd start being sickly over-the-top sweet to her from now on.... (what's the saying - smile; it'll make them wonder what you're up to!)
Lynseyann, I'd be fuming at that amount of money too, it's just extortionate
PenPin, don't worry about what you write about, it's good to hear from you. That's not very professional of your helper either. It wouldn't be appropriate for an older child who was less "labour intensive" (IFSWIM) let alone a 1 year old!!!
Happy Birthday Master Pixie (aka Twink's DGS2)
Good luck to all those going back to school (staff and pupils!). Two more days before mine are back, suddenly the time is going slower & slower....lol. Freedom is beckoning again
Looks like it will be a pottering indoors day mainly, never did get round to finishing sorting out the hall cupboard which I'm trying to turn into an overflow store/larder type of thing (but with space for the hoover & ironing board). So will do that today. Have to go into town at lunchtime (oldest DD wants a taxi ride to work....) but I need to go to the bank to get some cash out for my lovely builder. And buy some knee-length black socks for a uni mate's daughter (saw them in a shop here at £4 for 2 pairs; she hasn't seen them in Brighton which surprises me!!)
So (((((((((((((((((hugs))))))))))))))) to everyone needing them, have a good day all.Live your life until love is found, or love's gonna get you down" (credit to Mika!)0 -
Morning all
Didn't get chance to post yesterday as I had DGD and had to be there for 7.30 am  she is lovely, and has just started to shrug her shoulders and laugh - I love it when their personalities start to surface
Taking Charlie to the vets this morning, I will have to muzzle him as he hates the vet - he looks angelic, but is really a wolf in sheeps clothing :rotfl:
Sausage and new potato bake for dinner done in the Remoska and left over pasta for lunch. I am determined to try to empty the freezer , I have loads of plums that I will have to freeze before they go off, and I can hardly shut the freezer lid  Looks like some interesting dinners coming up
Hope everyone is OK xYou're only young once, but you can be immature forever0 -
Good morning all,
Another night of not-so-deep sleep. It's really becoming a habit now and one that I would like to lose asap.
I have an appointment with the nurse this morning for a smear test (yuk!) and a weigh-in. I suspect she will check my b/p again as she was surprised it was so good last time. All those visits to the gym are paying off. DS, DD and I will go to the gym after my appointment and I think we might go for a swim too now that my legs are shaved. :rotfl:
Woke DD up early this morning as both she and her brother are back at school tomorrow. DS got up at 6.35 this morning. No idea why as he went to bed at 11.30 last night. Could be he's beginning to panic about going back to school as this is his GCSE year.
My Remoska was delivered yesterday :j so I'm going to have a play with it today. I'll need to read the Remoska thread for all the tips and advice.
Happy Birthday to Master Pixie and PoppyOscars DMum (I hope I read your post right PO).
Redruby please take care of yourself and rest!
Pen-Pin sorry you are feeling rubbish. Have a (((hug)))
twink Are the b/p readings in addition to any that the surgery may take on a regular basis. Not so bad if its in addition to but if its replacing them then
((((hugs)))) to everyone who needs one and good luck to everyone going back to school today.
DD has warmed some croissants for her breakfast and they smell divine  but I will be *good* and just have some fruit.
Have a tremendous Tuesday. xx"Bad planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part."

Good morning everyone
N9eav - don't be so miseralble :kisses3: You are so lucky to live in one of the most beautiful parts of the country after God's Own County, of courseSun is shining in Yorkshire today, and I have a spring in my step. Don't know why - first day back at w*** after nearly 7 weeks off  Diespite the weather, I'm not cycling in, as I have a long list of chores to do in town, including the nursery to buy aa pot and some bulbs for a dear relative who's having a big birthday party on Sunday :j :T
I raided the damson tree - a whole 9 damsons  I've supplemented them from last year's crop from the freezer and will try not to repeat Aniie BL's Plum Toffee Disaster of 2006 (I'm still chuckling about that one
Happy Bithday to Master Pixie :bdaycake:
Enjoy, Penny. x:rudolf: Sheep, pigs, hens and bees on our Teesdale smallholding :rudolf:0 -
yoo hoo N9aev - you know when you came up to london and brought the rain with you - well you seem to have left lots of it behind. I've had to put on full waterproofs just to get the bike out of the garden and am now sitting here very hot waiting for a gap. I only hope Smokey's garden is getting some of this.
Squiggly - I did actually do that once and got some strange looks not only from her but other colleagues too. The problem is that she comes in late and so needs to stay and build up her time. There are some end of day jobs that she doesn't like to do so she says that she is oging in a minute and then ends up staying later than anyone else - in the meantime my flexi is going through the roof and I cant get the time off. I was very careful though and said things like "i feel like .... "
oh I can't put this off any longer - it's going to be a fluffy hair day!
good luck to all the back-to-schoolers (and their mums and dads)I'm going to feed our children non-organic food and with the money saved take them to the zoo - half man half biscuit 20080
