Ur better than me doing matched betting, looks to complicated for me, but do agree with quidco, love their money back, one quick point I got caught with Love Film, as they took the money out a couple of days before the end of the free trail. There excuse the discs i had got wouldnt be sent back in time, also (sorry 4 being bossy boots), make sure u get a proof of postage, even through its prepaid postage, just covers incase any go astray.

Know what you mean about the odd cheque and the small payments, they all add up and eventually!!!! will make a difference.

I'm very sad and even get exicted when a Quidco payment gets validated! x

Great minds think alike. I went with the £3 trial where they will only send 1 disc at a time so that I can't have two many in transit at once. When it arrives I'll clear my list of requests so that they can't send any more out. At worst if they do charge me early I'll still be £14 something or other in profit.

  • Love to hear about the matched betting success. I dabbled in it last year but stopped for some reason. As soon as I have some 'cash' (hopefully at the end of the £10 a day challenge) I'm going to start it again. Too easy to pass up on!

    Have a good week moo2moo & mum2one!

I'm phoobaahed but happy. I've done 3 mystery shops today at £12 each with no outlay other than the petrol to get there and back. I feel like a brain dead zombie. But a brain dead zombie with an anticipated £36 more than I had when I got out of bed this morning.

Beginning to have a dicky fit about matched betting. Its all seeming too easy me thinks mes dropped a mega clanger. If I have then it means my profit from the next one will be a miniscule 18p but as its all a learning curve and 18p is still profit I'm going to sit back and do nowt cos I'm more likely to really !!!! things up if I do something about my paranoid delusions. Lesson learnt whilst doing thses things in plenty of time is less nerve wracking than leaving it to the last minute doing it with days to spare is way more stressful

    Cheesecake beckons. G'night all!

Problem is I hate mystery shopping. I hate shopping and I hate shops. All in all its not a great combination. I think the worst bit is because I do split shifts by the time I've done a shop, come home, washed up, loaded the washing machine and eaten its time to go back to work. Then once I've arrived home again, read the DDs a story and tucked them into bed, eaten dinner and said hello to t'other half its 10pm before I start entering the results. A serious case of insufficient hours in the day. Oh woe is me. In my next Oscar winning staring role I'll be a Jewish mother-in-law (apologies to all the nice Jewish mother-in-laws out there!).

Anyway onwards and upwards. I have 3 days to payday and my bank account is theoretically 46p overdrawn. Fortunately thats the interest and fee free part and £10 of it is a cheque which shouldn't clear until friday assuming its even been presented. I feel a fair few NSDs coming on.

I have no scheduled get rich quick or world domination plans scheduled for today. Instead I need to make 2 rustic outdoor planters for schools gardening club by 3:15pm. I have a feeling they'll take me most of the day. Mostly because if I'm in school when the teachers are there they tend to hunt me down and ask if I could just ..... which usually takes half an hour or so. Then again thats what I'm paid to do and it is fun, although the Head is still struggling with the rapid appearance of handbag hooks in store cupboards throughout the building. On a more positive note I'm the temporary owner of 100 unwanted reading scheme books which were intercepted en route to the recycling bin because of a change in reading schemes. They'll be making an appearance on E-bay shortly.

**On a more serious note has anyone seen Lula lately?

ps. Despite saying I wouldn't do anything about my matched betting paranoia I have checked (twice) and I haven't made any obvious mistakes. At least not the one I thought I'd made.

Tis early morning rant time. T'other half has done something technical with a new internet box thingie meaning he can surf wirelessly from the kitchen. However in the process the other PC has decided that although it worked perefctly well yesterday it doesn't want to play ball this morning. 20 wasted minutes later I gave up and booted up his laptop only to find it password protected. Fortunately he uses the same 10 or so passwords so after a bit of trial and error I'm back in cyber space otherwise I may have felt obliged to do something useful before work.

Had a storming day yesterday. Built 2 planters before lunch which means I have 2 hours less to do for the remainder of the week. Got a cheque for £40 from a survey company for writing a blog entry a week over Christmas and better still I won a tin of chocolates in a raffle. Also had a phone call from t'other half relatives with whom we're going to stay over half term. Can't say I'm looking forward to it or the 10 hour journey. Also it appears its imperative that we buy a set of roof bars for his car rather than just taking fewer clothes or leaving his fishing kit behind. Ah well at least the DDs are looking forward to it.

Yoo hoo Tea, I'm here now :D

sorry i havent been in for a few days; I've been rather busy with both the 'Old Fling' & family stuff.

Yesterday was the service/funeral type thing for my mum & although I've been succesfully avoiding thinking about it for the last few weeks, it kind of built up & I felt it best to avoid posting until it was over. I'll be brief but need to get it out of my system. Eventually Dad took the decision to not tell anyone else in the family about it other than lil sis & myself. We agreed that it would cause distress to those who hadnt known there would be 'more' to deal with some 18 months on & that it would cause angst & guilt to those who could not attend. So now the 3 of us are sworn to secrecy for a good many years to come/ever. It was a very short service only lasting 10 minutes & although I did shed a few tears I still feel that I have progressed a long way down the grief route & am determined to forge ahead with life.

The O/F has'nt put a foot wrong yet; he came over at the week end bringing a bag full of groceries with him, washed my car, took DD to school yesterday while I was at the service, was still here when I got back, made me a cup of tea, hung around for an hour to make sure I was ok then left me in peace at just the right time :). He knows all about my debts :o & is intrigued by my newfound thriftiness. I told him about quidco & as luck would have it his car insurance was due so I saved him £200 by using a comparison site & in return he went through my quidco account to buy it & I get £65 :j. So my quidco account now stands at a very respectable £ 182 :D Dont think I can actually get a payment yet but still I'm delighted.

I've acquired another 5 £2 coins & at the moment I'm intending on saving them towards doing DD's room. That may change though  .

I made another £50 payment to CC1 yesterday so that now stands at £ 2,512 & CC2 is currently £3,715 so the total is a rather unimpressive £ 6,227 :( but I'm aiming on getting that down to just under £6,000 (again  ) by 2nd Feb.

I've actually started looking through my cooking books again & alongside mine & DDs plan to not buy any sweets or chocolate this month  I've decided to make biscuits & cakes rather than buy them. I still havent bought a new hoover :o as I just dont want to spend the money so currently using the old fashioned dustpan & brush method. I remember my grandmother having a carpet sweeper so I'm going to investigate if those still exist & if they're much cheaper :D . I'm actually enjoying not spending money at the moment & just wish I hadnt had to pay £24 for recorder club yesterday & have to pay £25 for Brownies today  . I coughed up the final £54 council tax for the year on monday & am hoping it wont be quite so much next year.

Right must go see how the crazy clothes challengers are doing

    bye for now

    Welcome back Lula.

Glad you got to send your mum on her way in private. Sometimes its nice not to have to share things. The OF sounds like a real star. Glad hes there when you need him but knows when to get lost.

I left school almost 2 hours ago and have done nowt. So much for my plans to transform the house in peace. Mind you I will do some ironing soon as at least that will warm my fingers up. Its freezing, literally. OH has phoned to say hes off to Belgium at the end of the month for 5 days, so thats 2 days of overtime one of which is a double time as well as 5 days peace for me!

My Love Film free trial arrived yesterday and was watched with disasterous results. Turned out that 8 Below is the only Disney film on the planet capable of reducing DD1 to tears. She went to bed in a huff not speaking to me because I made her watch a very scary horrible film and worse still a dog died. Posted it back today with proof of posting (thanks for the reminder Mum2One) then phoned and cancelled the subscription. Will try out someone elses free trial whilst the OH is away.
