Twas too cold and frosty to go out so I stayed in yesterday and had a NSD. Got a phone call from a friend saying they were taking us all out to dinner as a thank you for rewiring their horsebox so had a fabulous time and free food. Ate far far far too much. DDs now sleeping in so all is peaceful. Will be spending today baking christmas cakes so another NSD. Best of all Quidco e-mailed to say they've just deposited £125 in my bank account. It seems to be raining money here at the moment. I got my £50 Amazon voucher from Qype earlier in the week and promptly blew that on a Scalectrix for OHs Christmas prezzie. Wish it was as easy to find gift for the DDs. I still haven't a clue and they have yet to come up with any suggestions.

On a vaguely less positive note my car exhaust is sounding deafeningly loud, I forsee a visit to the garage in the not too distant future. Will be lying in a muddy puddle armed with a torch when the temperature rises above freezing to work out just how bad it is and whether the ominous rattle accompanying the thunder impersonation means its likely to drop off on route to the garage. Thats assuming theres enough fuel in it to get that far. The fuel gauge is a bit temperamental and I haven't filled up for ages. I would set the mileage clock to give me a bit of an idea but that doesn't work either and the only way to reset the time clock is to disconnect the battery and reconnect it at exactly midnight. The current alternative is to deduct 8 hours and 37 minutes from the time displayed. Despite all its leaks and rumbles and quirks its extremely reliable and I love it to bits.

The dreaded statement will arrrive shortly. I'm hoping we've hit the sub £35K mark but I've a feeling it may well have crept the other way. At least the OH has a fair amount of overtime this month even though hes working christmas day.... must remember to tell my parents who are coming over to spend christmas with us.

    Hey people,

hope everyone had a great week end. Moo2 that's brilliant news on your cheque/post,well done & may the money rain keep falling on you :D .

I had a fab week end doing all sorts of naughty things that i couldnt possibly describe on a public forum  , suffice to say that it was great fun ;).

I managed a NSD today too which is a great start to the month, & I've also transferred payments to both the CCs so CC1 is now £2,563.42 & CC2 is £ 3,647.33.

I will vanquish that debt demon.

    Hey Bowski,

Aww hon, thanks for your good wishes but I'm not saying another word:silenced: about my week end on this thread , however here's a clue : :kisses2:.

I never imagined when I started this Quest that there would be on line friendships as well & each of your posts brightens my day & makes me realise how lucky i am to have online frineds to share the good & bad times with. I really couldnt confide all the gory financial details to people I know & that's why it's so great to be able to come here & know that everyone else has days when they struggle too.

So here's to you all :A

The original debt at lbm was £ 6,618 , I just got fed up with looking at it in the sig so have decided to update the total debt at the beginning of each month. That way I dont have to see the 'blips' when the debt got confused & started going the wrong way  .

I need to get my beauty sleep now so thanks for keeping me company

    G'nite x

Ooooh Lula that is exciting news.

Even though I have to make it all up in my head and jump to conclusions as your clues are just a little too vague so I'm going with 6 foot 3, taned, toned, very generously endowed (and talented with it), moderately well off with own house, own car, mother who resides on another continent (I'd go for planet but thats a bit extreme) and a fabulous and very enthusiastic cook who also likes to wash up and believes that men should do at least 50% of the housework. Whilst I'm at it he also understands the concept of the laundry basket and can operate a wahing machine. Sound familiar?

Glad to hear you're having fun... but really he wouldn't happen to be a meter reader would he???????? Nosey aren't I!
