hi, emma again!!
we currently have a corner bath..but i dont really likt it as you cant lay stretched out in it, its wide rather than long. we have lived here 3yrs+ and it hasnt grown on me at all..i would like a 'normal' bath
OH says it will be a selling point to have a corner bath, but after watching some of the property programmes i disagree.
the top of the corner bath wer your head is is right next to the loo, whereas with a staight bath there would be a gap..
if we kept the corner bath we would have to get a side to fit it, so economy wise it would level out.
opinions please!!corner or stright..........

When we moved into our house 9 years ago, we changed our straight bath for a corner bath and I love it and wouldn't change back. It is great for the kids when they have a bath and it is easier when we bath the dog. Husband and I don't have baths - only showers and it gives so much more area without the shower curtain sticking to you. But, we do have a large bathroom and it isn't right up against anything else.0

If I had a large bathroom I would prefer a corner bath. For a smaller bathroom a straight bath is fine.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Quick Grabbit, Freebies, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning and the UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.

Not for me. My bathroom is tiny and a corner bath is way too wide.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Quick Grabbit, Freebies, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning and the UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.

our bathroom isnt small, but isnt large either!!!!
corner bath would be ok if not next to the loo i think
do you think it would affect resale though? are ppl that bothered about shape of bath??0 -
Sometimes having a corner bath rather than a conventional straight one enables the room to be fitted with a seperate shower cubicle, so can be a good choice in such cases.
I've only every had a straight bath, so have no first hand experience of corner baths, but wouldn't be put off of buying a house with one.
I've heard some people complain that they take longer to fill than a conventional bath as they are larger, so need a larger volume of water. This maybe could be a factor if people are on a water meter & want to keep their water bills as low as possible. The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.
I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.0 -

I would just get a Straight one I mean if anyone
wants to replace it let them do it.................
P.S Straight is in more homes than corner so its more of the "norm"0 -
emma im moving in with my partner next yr. (waiting for daughter to finish school yr here) and my bathroom is huge at my house was a bedroom, we have a corner bath and i love it but my partners house has a small bathroom, im going to get in a few bathroom companies to show me what can be done with his bathroom, and then when we get some ideas we going to get it done cheaper than these companies can do.... no harm getting the professionals in just as long as you dont fall for the hard pitch that is bound to come with it..Those we love don't go away,They walk beside us every day,Unseen, unheard, but always near,
Still loved, still missed and very dear
Our thoughts are ever with you,Though you have passed away. And those who loved you dearly,
Are thinking of you today.0
