I like the look of corner baths, but being a bath person...they just don't cut the mustard, in use I'm afraid.

Straight baths you can stretch out in are much more preferable imo (and a quick straw poll round a few friends suggests they feel the same).

I'm a bath lounger (our ensuite has a bath which I call my office!), on holiday once I used a corner bath and hated it. Much much prefer a straight bath.
  • Corner baths are more for squarer shaped bathrooms as they are usually 1500mm X 1000mm rather than the traditional rectangular 1700mm X 700mm, I tend to think of them as a compromise. There aren't a great many to choose from in terms of quality or style. If you have space then a 1800mm X 800mm rectangular bath is best for those who like a big bath.

thankyou all i will be telling my OH this info!! none of neighbours have corner bath, and they have same sized bathrooms so must just be the old owners liked waiting 3hours for bath to run!! (they do take longer to run) chair bit is useful for shaving legs ect but could easily live without it, we have a shower over bath anyway but LOVE that pic, i have seen some of those shaped baths and they do look good!!

if any1 wants to help me even more pls see my other posts, we are quite busy with house at moment!!!

We have a straight bath in the main bathroom and a corner bath with whirlpool in our en-suite, both have a shower over, which I use every day. I don't do baths often but the corner bath is great when I feel like a soak, however I am a shortie if you were 6 foot you wouldn't be able to lie in it properly.

You can get square shaped corner baths which fit into a small area as our en suite is only about four foot wide.

Also if it takes ages to fill, what sort of boiler do you have? We had a 20 year old combi that deliverd a really low flow rate, we replaced it a couple of years a go with a modern combi which is upto 13 litres per minute and we can really notice the difference.

It's not strictly true that it takes longer to fill a corner bath than a normal bath
You have to look at the capacity.... i.e litres.
Have a look at this standard corner bath with a capacity of 160 litres Here

Now, have a look at a standard bath with a capacity of 162 litres Here
If you go upto the next size in straight baths...the capacity goes to 183 litres.

We've got both - a straight one as the en suite, in the extensin - woth taps in the middle, so when we share it, it's more comfortable.

The corner one in the pics http://www.rightmove.co.uk/viewdetails-8541893.rsp?pa_n=1&tr_t=buy is still favourite, though!!
