My diary... becoming debt free whilst still having a life!!!

My job is okay hopefully for a few more months. Reccie said yes so now we've got a big decision to make... sorry make that massive.
Completely different side of the country and way less money etc... change of life style etc
If we did it would need to either rent our house or sell it. Don't know whether in the current climate to sell it and cut our "losses". We do have equity but the redemption penalties, estate agents fees, hips packs, solicitors fees etc and falling equity would wipe out some of that... If houses are going to continue to fall in value it may be worth selling now anyway and then possibly renting and waiting to buy until say end of next year. We would then be debt free tho but would have no assets left and very little for a deposit...
Hope you and your family are okay Ruby and 1step that the IVA is going okay. Hello to Belle and Cas and Irish Chick and any other lurkers too.

I'll be with you whatever pounds we're saving and/or loosing! I know it's been a tough few months for you and hope 2009 brings fresh hope and renewed energy. I hope you don't mind us all 'perching' on your diary, I find the support of all of you vital in keeping me going, especially Ruby, of course, and Cas, Saving Holmes, irishchick and 1 step closer who have all just been there and kept my spirits up when times have been rough.
Here's wishing you all a very Merry Christmas - hope to see you all around before New Year - we should nominate a night to have a 'party!

Hi all survived xmas day and boxing day. Been able to swap some unwanted gifts for things I actually like and still have some xmas £ that I can spend in the sales - so that is good! Hampers went down a treat - and took the pressure off.
DD woke up at 1.30am to find out santa had been - so we let her open 2-3 pressies but then said she couldn't open any more until morning. that was despite giving her a xmas eve hamper! She was soooooooooooooooo hyper!
Hope everyone else is having an okay xmas - and best wishes for the new year!Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030
