Thanks YB, for your kind words and advice about school. I have spoken to the deputy head and she is going to deal with it tomorrow. He is quite small for his age and apparantly the bully is 5ft 9in!!!
Well done on having the money put aside for the mortgage extra, your instincts obviously served you well!! Xmas shopping can wait...
When I had put my bank details into quidco, it didn't take long at all for the payment to arrive in my bank account. I think they pay out every couple of months.
Let us know how you get along with your first xmas purchase.
Night night.

Hi YB I got paid £22.30 1 October for some things from end July I am still owed about £150 from Aug, Sept and a tiny bit from Oct, only another £7 has been received by them so far - you only get paid once quidco have been paid by the merchant.
Cashbackkings website seems to have disappeared again - they owe me about £12 so when they come back I may try and get my money out as quick as poss as they seem to have their website up and down a lot.
I have enough ipoints for a straightener so may get that as a Christmas present to myself and share with DD... I have money in pigsback - you can get that straightaway as paypal there doesn't seem to be a minimum payout so that is potentially better. Lightspeed surveys seem quite good as well and some of the other sites as there is a definite cash value that you can claim. So potentially you can get your money quicker that way. I've left mine in for now and plan to withdraw nearer to Christmas...

Ruby - sorry to hear about the Asthma attack - I thought things had gone very quiet. Hope you are feeling better now... Sorry too to hear about the bullying - most schools tho have good policies in place and hopefully it should get dealt with quickly now...
I've been told my job is ok for now but who knows? My friend is doing reasonably well and has been told her condition is incurable but that there is still a little bit of hope...
We are going to visit the area for OH's possible new role at half term and then decide what to do next. Unfortunately tho - it will be a lot of petrol money, an overnight stay and extra food bill. On the plus side the kids get a mini-holiday and if it is at all a reasonable proposition for the future - we need to do this...
Hope you all have a good rest of week!Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Im still here! Just increasingly busy and tired and weary and........ Im sure you can all identify!
Having major troubles with Nationwide trying to work out a repayment plan and they are 'thee' most unhelpful people I have ever come across! C.A.B are livid and have wrote letters of complaint to them. Im getting so sick of it all and feel like Im getting nowhere fast! Fed up Girls!!Debt - £10,000
Small changes..... Big Differences!0 -
Oh IrishChick I hope things improve for you soon. How are the virginvie parties going?
My DS got sent home sick today.... so I had to come home too! Did some work from home tho...
I need to set myself a few more goals
* I need to contact the tax office re their letter and see if they do owe me some money back
* I need to complain to my mortgage provider about how long they took to issue my mortgage - that could net me approx £100
* I still need to sort and sell stuff and de-clutter
Biggest money saving idea - ban shopping - spending is lower than it was but still not as low as it should be... still not capable of stopping shopping. I've been trying not to do another grocery shop until OH gets paid as I thought it was tomorrow but just realised he's not paid until Monday. Could probably manage with just ham, fruit and milk but I'm not likely to stop at just that... would need to send DS or OH but even OH I think would get tempted!:oAchieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

One of the sites I did reviews for a month or 2 back has offered me the opportunity to write some more for them so hopefully I can make some more money that way soon.
I'm going to take some piccies of some of the places I've reviewed already and that will also bump up my dosh. Just need to clear some finished hamper pictures first:p ! I think I may also go and have a look at Ciao and Dooyoo and see what the prospects are there...
I prefer reviewing to survey sites as you are less likely to get to the end and them say quota full or you don't qualify when you've already spent ages doing it.:cool:Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

goodness! theres alot been going on!
I hope everyone is coping with all the stresses and strains
(((hugs))) to all of you
Ruby hope you're feeling better, asthma attacks are awful and scary
hope DS is recovering he has done fantastically well to speak up about the bullying . I am sure the school will deal with it.
fortunately we havent had that problem so far maybe its to do with that OH is a teacher at the same school the girls go to.
SH hope ds is feeling better. are you nearer to making your decision yet? not easy Iknow
YB how frustrating when you have money apportioned for something and it has to go on something irritatng like that
IC dont overdo it try and make some 'me' time (difficult I know)
I have been doing a bit of overtime so have been busy
DD2's birthday this weekend she is having a sleepover on sat night with 3 friends ( SH- I have done her a movie hamper which I think she will love) for the sat and then we are having a family party on monday
gotta go low battery x0 -
Hiya :j
Thanks for your kind thoughts! I had my iva pack through - and a good talk with payplan - who said that if my iva is not accepted then it will be a dmp for me. so there we go. I feel sooooooooooooooooooooo relieved that something is finally happening even though I have a mountain of paperwork to get through!
I was very ill tuesday and went to bed as soon as i got in, think it was all the stress! I will probably lurk for a while if that is ok?
1 stepIf you wait for perfect conditions, nothing would ever get done! :T
I'm not short - I'm condensed awesome!0 -
Hi SisterCas - glad you liked the movie hamper idea
On OH and future - he's expressed an interest - a go-between is now contacting the interviewer to try and arrange a meeting possibly at half term - if anything more develops I'll let you know. It would be such a big step if we did it:eek: especially as a) we are in a fixed rate and there are early repayment penalties b) we probably wouldn't want to buy and sell straightaway in case it didn't work out and we wanted to come back! and c) even to rent our house out and rent down there would feel a big risk - what if they trashed it etc and d) not sure how mortgage provider would take it... and that ignores all the issues around school moves and job move for me. Just to throw in a couple of positives tho - the area and role has been highly recommended by 2 different people we trust and looks nice on the web piccies altho schools are still a worry. As well my best friend is considering moving to within 20 miles of our possible new location - how weird is that!:p It would be one of those positive tipping factors if they definitely did - they are still only at enquiry stage too tho currently...
DS went a bit hyper earlier today after being given some different medicine mandipan - when that wore off he went thro a no-one loves me crying stage! I've either never seen him like that before or it was so long ago that I can't remember. OH is also feeling poorly so he will look after DS tomorrow and hopefully I won't have lost too many brownie points at work for coming home today. Its such a difficult balancing game work and family, it's very hard to get it right or to know when its all about to go pear shaped!
1step I'm glad things are at least still moving for you. Hope a) you feel healthier soon and b) that things start to pick up. Keep strong, there are a lot of people on this site in the same position as you... or better still, who have been there and come out the other side

Hi all - I found this today - you may want to give it a look.
I'm going to have to put my DD back on school dinners - she is crying and exhausted by the end of the day and I think she is just hungry. She's not eating enough of her packed lunch I think so with it becoming more wintry by the day I think we are going to have to put her back on dinners but leave DS on packed lunch for now.
Bye for now!Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030
