Hello to everyone,
1stepcloser, I hope today has been easier and less stressful than expected. I know when we were considering a dmp I had lots of trouble focussing on anything else at all!! Thinking of you.
SH try not to worry too much about the job situation until you have to. Keep looking for a new job in the meantime you never know what might turn up.
YB and IC, I wish I could take a leaf out of your book and not spend. It's not that I am spending all the time you understand.... it's just that I love it soo much and keep seeing lovely things for presents etc. I need to GET A GRIP!!! I moaned at DH last night for doing a switch payment when we are not supposed to be and then went out today and spent £40!! Double standards and I owe him any apology this evening.
SC - I love the idea of a DVD hamper and might do one for DS for xmas, he is hard to buy for and I think that would please him, especially if it included coke, popcorn and sweets!!
I know I shouldn't have spent the £40 today but it was another of those matalan visits where I couldn't resist it and I got the following:
For DD
3 pairs of leggings (£2.50 and £6.00 for a pair)
2 really lovely skirts (that look like they come from Monsoon) (£4.50 each)
2 tops (longer dress type tops to go over leggings) (£6 each)
2 pairs of funky ballet type pumps @ £3 each!!
A lovely pink embrodiered fleece blanket with fairies and a castle on (xmas present) half price reduced to £4
Some xmas gift tags. 50p
All for £40!!! I know you ladies will understand that is a real bargain and I have to say all the clothes look like they have come from m&s or monsoon etc, there is nothing cheap looking at all about them. I know I am trying to justify it, but she will look lovely in them!!!
Anyway, today has been lovely went to DD school harvest open morning today and helped her make a 'setting' of a field for a scarecrow she made earlier in the week. Then went to Matalan then on to DS school for a meeting with his tutor because I missed the scheduled ones in an evening. He was really pleased with him, so I am happy about that.
Nipped home now to put some washing on and tidy a little then off again shortly to pick up DD from school.
SC I hope you have enjoyed your day off. I haven't done food shopping yet this week still have that to do.
Well ladies and diary, there you go a bit of an update from me. The sun is shining and it is lovely and warm here, I hope it continues into the weekend.
Best 'thank god it's friday' wishes to you all.

Hi
We had the call and basically they want to deal with hubby seperately cos of hi being self employed and with me they said IVA.
I have just spent hours reading up on it and am shattered! Not eaten much either and shattered now so will clean a fish tank (should have done this yesterday) and go to bed.
My boss has authorised some overtime for me bless! so will be in work tomorrow. at least it will keep my mind occupied.

Ruby - wrote a long post earlier but it disappeared... Have you thought of saving your DD's new clothes and giving them to her for Xmas?
1 step - at least your OH is on the way to being sorted, your OT will help and the jury is still out on what the best move forward will be for you. I do recommend you join the £10 a day challenge as a way of generating some extra income!
I'm planning to spend some time this weekend re-doing my CV - I've also done a couple of low paying surveys and some cashback stuff to try and bring in at least a little more money... Just spend £13 tho on replacing hamster, buying disinfectant and some new bedding. It does look cute tho - we have called it Ginny. I thought it was the best way of making sure kids weren't too scarred by the experience...Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Hi all - life would struggle to be more confusing - OH has just been asked to consider a role at the other end of the country - which would mean his voluntary role would become a paying role but his day job would go and he would take a pay cut. I then would have to get a new job and it doesn't look like there will be so many jobs for me. It would impact schools, disrupt everybody and we would probably need to rent our house out and rent there for a while as our fixed rate deal would be too expensive to come out of. But it is what OH has dreamed of for years, it might rain a lot but its by the sea.... Arghhhhhhhhhh Too many decisions and too much complexity.
Any words of wisdom?Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Only word of wisdom at the moment is do a plus, minus , interesting list and sleep on it. Sounds exciting, but I'm avoiding exciting at the moment! Best of luck in thinking it through

Morning everyone,
SH - that sounds like a huge decision what is your instinct saying?
SC - I like Richard Gere, found myself watching an officer and a gentleman on tv the other night and wishing I was back there in 1982 when life seemed oh so simple....
I feel a bit down in the dumps today (and can feel the cloud of pmt settling over me), some months I manage to dodge it and others it catches me out. I think this month is one of those months. The prospect of my busy week at work is making me want to crawl under the duvet and having spent the most wonderful day with DD yesterday and laughing lots and lots, today through no fault of hers she is getting on my nerves!!! DH and DS have gone off to footie and I have lots of house things to do, none of which are inspiring me enough to get on with them!!
Oh well enough of this wallowing.... I hope you are all enjoying your weekends better sign off and do something.

Ruby I didn't know we could sync times for pmt even over the internet...
Thanks YB for your comment
OH has asked to be seriously considered for the role. Someone else I spoke to knows the place and people personally and has recommended it. On the internet it appears quite pretty and it is on the coast. I don't know...it is what we've been waiting for for a few years I just wasn't expecting to move so far for it... we've got half term off so we are going to go with the kids and look at the area then..
On top of that a close friend has been told that she is no longer in remission with her tumour and that she has a very aggressive form...so between this, pmt, OH possible move and me possibly going to lose my job, our hamster dying, an aunt also terminal with cancer it's not exactly been a great week!
It is interesting timing tho with this potential move for OH as if I do lose my job there's not a lot to keep us where we are and we could take it as a sign... At least we both have jobs today and our debts are still coming down. We owe about £2K less than when we joined... I think it is one of those times in life where we just have to take each day as it comes...
I really hope your lives are not as complicated as mine. Definitely chocolate time:EasterBun I don't know whether 1 Step is still reading - but best of luck on deciding what to do next too.

Hiya
Yes I am still here thanks! I am just so all over the place right now, was awake half the night. I have sent an email to payplan with a ton of questions. Hubby will have a phone call from them tomorrow about his situation. My biggest hugest worry is if we have to go bankrupt. And losing the house. It has, well had, £20k equity in it a couple of years ago and I am terrified it will have to be handed over to an OR............and we would be homeless. The council area I live in has a policy of rehoming asap and hubby is trying to put my mind at rest but it is so so difficult!I have tried understanding about beneficial interest and it is just swimming round my head right now.
Can anyone explain that to me please?
