OK here goes, I hope the above links work. I have attempted to put a basket together with the stuff I have so far and it doesn't look too bad.
The actual baskets will be shallower, hence the second picture with a towel in the bottom!!
Bit of a pink, girly theme.
I forgot to mention the prices:
Bath bombs £3.75 for 8 (eBay)
Bath Lillys- these are bodyshop really lovely ones and I was luck to get 6 for £4.15 (Ebay)
Cello and bows - £5.68 (2 rolls and 10 bows) (ebay)
muffin cases - £2.65 (ebay)
socks 50p each tesco
make up brushes £1 each tesco
compact and brush - cancer research 99p
car air freshener - 99p (cancer research)
tissues 99p for a pack of four (tesco)
face mask 4 for 3 at superdrup 89p each
6 white flannels £4.89 (ebay)
all the above is total cost including postage, so don't feel like it has been too expensive yet. The trouble is now I have started I could put so much in!! and I have to stop myself buying things that are expensive because I need six each time. The good you do comes back to you.DFW Long haul supporters No: 1340 -

Ruby the baskets are gorgeous ,I think its such a good idea I love the pink theme. :T I was thinking of you whilst I was in home bargains today ( dont know if you have one near you) they are selling lovely pink pens that have a picture of a cat on for 19p! they are RSPCA ones and look really good quality. the RRP is £1.99 I think
I managed to get the cheque into the bank without being hounded by bank managers:rotfl: couldnt find anywhere to post it though ( had to go the counter) it is only a small branch , maybe thats why.
hope everyone is ok xx0 -

Ruby on the baskets - send off for a load of freebies from the freebie board, ask for magazines from friends and strip out all the free samples. I personally wouldn't go for identical - also have a look what you've got in your house already that still looks new that you would be happy to do without..... Try a journal in a jar perhaps or jar of interesting facts etc... I am recycling coffee jars currently and jazzing them up with ribbon, stickers or putting the facts on pretty paper in the first place....
I did a hamper for a 40th birthday http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=309335&page=196
I think it looked lovely but it probably didn't cost as much as you are planning to spend.... Everybody was really impressed at the party I took it too.
I'm sure you'll do fine. I gave my mum a hamper... her reaction "I thought you said you were on a budget and had no money" - I think my new spend had been about £4 although admittedly it was probably worth about £20 plus....
Hi Belle and Cas...
I've just gone through the freebie pages - got some more free make up on the way, signed up to be a book reviewer so I can get some free books, got some free personalised spoons coming, glasses etc I love this site:money: My next "basket" is actually going to be a mixing bowl cooking set for a little girl.
By the way - I've managed to absorb the costs of packed lunches in my normal shop which I didn't think was possible. So I am saving £20 a week just there. Also last night I used mysupermarket for the first time - I joined through a cash back website so I get points too. It tells you where your shopping would be the cheapest between Asda, Sainsburys, Tesco and Ocado - Asda was by far the cheapest - on a £70 shop it was £20 cheaper than Tesco and £60!!!!! cheaper than Ocado! Now that's what I can shocking!. It also gives you ideas of where you can downshift brands or calories to save money and or fat! I thought it was fab - some of the offers I would never have noticed in-store. I saved £10 on multi-buys plus another £4 by downshifting where it suggested.:jAchieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

PS I am also starting a mini-box of Christmas goodies for myself - so far I have 2 free books, a dvd using my £5 play.com winnings from quidco, plus a £3 top in the sale, when I get my psychologies magazine subscription - effectively free through cash back - that's going in there as well. I want a hamper! So I'm giving OH a head start as he is useless at things like that!Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Ruby
Those baskets look fantastic - I tried to look at work but they were banned!
Thanks for asking Cas - I'm fine now it's FRIDAY!!!!! Hurray. Am in pjs already but remembered am expecting shopping delivery - oh well - I expect they've seen worse lol :rotfl:
SH I like the idea of starting DHs Christmas shopping for him. I always drop hints and usually get almost, but NOT QUITE, what I asked for! After looking at your basket I spent ages trying to find a cello - what could it be I thought, I know musical people and it might be interesting to do a music themed basket . Then I realised, celloPHANE. I'm so dense sometimes :rotfl:
Have great Friday night all
BelleGetting there...slowly!
GC : must do better
NSD: very rare
No matter how slow I go I am lapping everyone on the couch.0
