    Hey

Thanks for the replies the more i think about it the garden is something that has always been a problem for me. I always want it done and then i always put it off due to no money so this time im going to just go and do it! Might regret it when i have to pay for it but at the moment the sun is shining and im just going to get on with it.

Im going to look up some numbers and see if i can get someone out to give me a quote or two.

Off to look up some numbers

Well just had a phone call from the garage apart from the service costs i need new brake pads which will be £140 + VAT which is not as bad as i expected but i will need to go to the bank and get cash out to pay for it. When i realised that i thought i better get my bank book so i could go into town and get the money out but then i realised i haven't seen the book for over a week and i was going to look for it.

Needless to say everything else i had planned today was put on hold until i found the book. I have just come across it but only after i had tipped a full glass of diet irn bru all over my cream couch  i seriously shouldn't be left on my own! I now have half the couch covers in the washing machine but have no idea if i can actually wash the cushions underneath them. I will need to wait and see what state they are in when they dry.

Anyway id better actually get dressed and head into town so that i have the money together for the car if i can get it back today. They might not be able to get the parts until 2moro.... if thats the case im going to need 2moro off as another holiday althought i don't really mind as i've managed to make a dent in the livingroom by cleaning, hoovering and starting to tidy.... only cause i needed to find my bank book!

Will update if there's any more drama's or mishaps

    Hey

Well i ended up taking today off work 2. I got the car back yesterday for a grand total of £430.11  i only had £400 in the car account but i was also due to put money away this week so managed to get the £30.11 together for that 2.

So now i have a grand total of 66p left in the car account to pay for the insurance, road tax and MOT :( the only good thing is that the car is due its MOT in June but as the brake pads were fixed in the service im hoping that it will pass the MOT without any problems so it should just be the basic MOT charge that i will need to pay. I think due to everything i am going to change the way that i make the savings. It will now be a combined amount of £100 a month into the car account which will be used for whatever is needed instead of splitting it down into separate amounts which should mean that i will have enough to cover road tax when it is due in September and then i will have enough for car insurance when its due in January and then any other service and MOT costs required.

I have also made payments of £170 to RBS M/C 1 and £84.15 to MBNA which at the moment bring my total debt down to £28089.98 which is nearer my goal of £28000 for this month.

I still have the following to pay and put into savings this month:

    - RBS M/C 2 - minimum payment less interest charged
    - DEBENHAMS - minimum payment less interest charged
    - SANTANDER - minimum payment less interest charged
    - CAR ACCOUNT - £40.00
    - HOUSE ACCOUNT - £115.00

I am hoping that i manage to make all the above payments.... am hoping that i can so that i can meet my target of £28000 this month.

I had the first quote in from the fencing people and it was £1100 which includes the fencing and a shed and i think that is quite reasonable considering the last quote i got about 3 years ago was £2000 and that was for a 3ft fence instead of 4ft and it didn't include a shed so am going to wait until i get the next quote in and see what the difference is.

I havent done anything in the house at all today and my fiance is due in within the hour so i really need to get a move on and do something before he comes home :o better get a move on!

    Hi

Well things aren't that great at the moment. I haven't really been able to do much over the last few days.

It was my fiance's mums birthday yesterday so we had to go out for a family dinner. I had spent Friday night trying on all my clothes to get something suitable for wearing to go to the fancy resteraunt that they had picked. I had nothing to fit or that was suitable so i ended up going shopping in my lunch break from the shop yesterday and ended up spending £140.75 on my credit card  i really can't believe i did it i only went in for a pair of black trousers. I ended up getting a pair of black trousers, a pair of jeans, two tops and a cardigan. Now i know i didn't need all of these for last night but i've not really got any dressy clothes that fit so i thought why not i work hard i deserve it!

Now i feel really sick about doing it. There is no way i can make my target of £28000 now :( and i've no one to blame but myself. So as at today my debt currently stands at £28230.73.

I still have the following payments to make this month:

RBS MC 2 monthly payment less interest charged
DEBENHAMS monthly payment less interest charged
SANTANDER monthly payment less interest charged
    House account £80.00

At least after doing this i haven't increased the debt this month but again its unlikely that i will meet the target i've set myself. Only conselation is that the debt is still decreasing and not going up even though i do have some nice new clothes that i don't have anywhere to wear them for a while :o

I really wish i could get into the moneysaving, debtbusting and cleaning mood instead of just wishing that everything will get done, paid and be ok.

So far today i have checked all my accounts, relisted some unsold items on ebay, put on 2 washings and have one in the tumble drier. I really can't be bothered with anything at the moment.

Buddiebabe - is there any way you can cut up your credit cards. It took me a long time to get the courage to do that. i kept thinking but what if there is an emergency. Looking back over the last 10 years of my life I have had plenty of emergencies but never had to use my cards for them.

I am so glad now I don't have the cards - that way there is no temptation at all.

    What do you think?

    Hey MrsP

Yes i have thought about cutting up my credit cards but the only problem is that i have to use them to get by until i get my wages to get food and petrol.

If i did cut them up then its possible that i wouldn't be able to get to work and i can't really afford to take the chance that might happen.

    Hey

Well where do i start.... damage limitation is no longer possible :o i have spent a fortune over the last few days so much so i really don't want to post about it but i know i have to.

I have paid the 50% deposit for my wedding dress which i bought today and that i know is the right one :j it is the one!!!! Only problem is that it came with a price tag to match.... now i always said i would never spend that kind of money on a dress but i have  and i think that is why at the moment i feel really sick and am so worried that i have done the wrong thing.

I know it is THE dress but cause of the money im worrying about it.... surely i could have went for one that was cheaper and not as nice but then i think about it and i get excited and all happy again.

Anyway the damage is done now and a deposit has been paid so i now need to find the rest of the money for 4 weeks before the wedding... i know i can do that as i have over a year to save for it. I know it wasn't the most MSE thing to do but i did manage to get a 20% discount on the dress and they also added in free alterations worth £190 so that does make me feel a bit better.

Worst thing is that my total debt now is more than what i started with this year. I have a really horrible feeling that this is the start of a slippery downwards slope. I have enough petrol to get me to work and there is not much food in the house so 2moro im going to go and fill up the car and then do a big food shop using the credit card and then im going to cut it up. I usually use it to live between pay days but if i keep doing that im never going to get out the mess im in. If the worst comes to it i will be able to borrow money from my fiance to tide me over.... it may become a weekly occurance but if it stops me adding to my credit card debt it will be worth it.

Im not going to post how much i owe at the moment as it wouldn't be a true figure and to be honest i can't face looking at it at the moment.

From now on if i want stuff for the wedding it will be paid for with cash and if i don't have the cash for it i just don't get it.

Im not really able to do any listing on ebay for the next few weeks as my mum is moving house a week on wednesday and she is the one that does all my parceling up so i can't expect her to deal with that as well as move. Im going to let my listings finish and then will see what i do after that. Ebay is the main way of me getting extra cash together im going to miss the money but it will also give me a chance to look at the stuff i have left and see if its actually worth selling. The other reason im going to be slowing the ebay stuff down is that im working all week in my main job but im also going to be working 6-10pm in my second job Mon, tues, thurs and friday this week and on wednesday im working till midnight then all day sat and sunday so im not going to have any time off until Monday 3rd May  so i don't think i'll get much done.... infact i'll be lucky if i manage to get a shopping done :o

One good thing that happened this week was that i managed to lose 3lbs :j and i only stuck to my weight watchers points 3 days. Im going to aim to stick to it from Monday - Friday and if i can i want to lose 2lbs this week which will take me under 11stone and i really want to be under 11stone.

Am off to bed now if i get a spare minute i will try and update but if i don't i will update on the 1st May with the depressing news.... as at the moment it looks like my debt will be in excess of £29000 :mad::eek::mad::eek::mad:

The only good thing is that i managed to stick to my diet for 3 days so if i can do that i should be able to stick to the debt busting 2.... What i would like to do is set myself a small challenge every month that is manageable enough to complete rather than all the bigger things that are just too unachievable for example buy one wedding related item a month with money that has been saved i.e. table crystals (the cheapest option possible) and also a debt related target too e.g. repay the house account by October 2010 which would mean paying £10 a month to that which i think is do able. I will also need to start a wedding dress savings fund to pay the remaining balance of the dress..... im never going to get to sleep now am thinking of all the things i need to do.

    Am going now.... honest!!!

    Nite Nite

Buddiebabe - well done on posting and not just running away.

Please do not be so hard on yourself. It is your wedding day - it is your special day - if you want to spend X amount on a wedding dress to make you feel special then go right ahead and do it. But please do not feel guilty about it. Enjoy your dress.

Please do try and cut up your cards if you can. Since I cut mine up a whole load has gone from my shoulders - if you don't have a card then you can't use it and it really dos focus your mind.

Well done on your weight loss! I am so pleased for you. I am struggling with WW points and cannot even manage one day :)

Have you thought about doing a boot fair? Perhaps instead of Ebay?

    Take care
