    Happy easter everyone!

Hope you've all got some nice chocolate to nibble on...

Im working today but don't start till 10.30 so it gives me some time to do stuff.... not sure this is what i should be doing but i can't really be bothered cleaning or tidying so am just lying in bed catching up on MSE and having a cup of coffee.

Me and OH spent last night looking at wedding stuff... its just so expensive :o im trying to save but things just keep cropping up all the time and im not sure if i'll be able to get the money together that i need but then again i'll give it a good try!

Since Ebay have announced that you will only be able to list 100 free 99p items a month im having serious doubts about where im going to be able to get the extra money to save from but im going to have to figure out something. I have already sorted out my unsold listings and will take the books, dvds, games and videos to work and see if i can get 50p for them there. If not im tempted to take a trip to a car boot sale on Sunday and see if i can get some money from there by taking anything that may sell... and i have lots of that stuff... its just the hastle and the getting up early thats my biggest problem.

Well am going to check my bank accounts and see whats happening with them then i suppose i should really get up and get ready for work!

Hope the easter bunny is good to you all :EasterBun this will be me later!

    :easter:

    Hey

Well yesterday was ok no cleaning, housework or ironing done again! This place is a mess.

I am still lying in bed.... i have had breakfast about an hour ago courtesy of my OH who is now in the livingroom playing xbox. Today is my only full day off from work and i feel like im wasting it lying here in bed but to be honest i really can't be bothered to get up and do anything. I have a hall full of stuff to put on ebay but am not sure if i should bother now they are going to restrict the number of free listings.... sometimes i just want to give it all away, however, i know there's a few hundred pounds of stuff just lying there.... i really should get on and get it listed.

Then the other problem is that if i do that yes it would make some space in the hall but then again im not doing anything else which means the house is still in the same mess as it always is.

Sometimes i wonder if there is any point to it all :(

I really need to snap out the doom and gloom mood im in but not sure how to go about it.

Ok here are some of the things i need to get done:

    - clean the bathroom, toilet, sink, bath, brush and mop the floor, clean the mirror, window and window sill
    - put on a washing, put on the tumble drier, put on another washing, put on the tumble drier again.
    - clear out the wardrobe at my side of the bed so i can put some of my clothes away
    - do some ironing.... but only the stuff i can get put away. I don't want stuff ironed lying in piles that will just get messed up again anyway.

I can't believe its after 1 o'clock and im still lying here doing nothing it just makes me more angry and then i feel rubbish but im still doing nothing about it

Going to get up now and i'll see if i can do anything in the next hour

  • hi buddiebabe. Sorry for busting into your diary, but your last post just struck such a chord with me. I have felt like this so many times and berated myself for it. The funny thing is that when I hear you saying it, I want to tell you not to be so hard on yourself.

This is a bank holiday, it's your only day off work and you're tired - you need a rest. Do your hour of stuff if you feel like it (it will probably make you feel better to have done something), give yourself a pat on the back, and take the rest of the day off!

I've managed to ebay a few things in the past, but to be honest, the mere thought of putting more stuff on makes me lose the will to live . Can you just keep things you can sell for a decent amount and dump the rest?

Hope you have a good day.

Hi Polly thanks for dropping in i know what your saying if i was reading someone elses diary i would be thinking exactly the same thing!

I have managed to get myself out of bed and the following is now done:

    - Bathroom cleaned
    - Washing and tumble drier both on
    - Cleared out my freezer and fridge of things that were out of date and things i just won't use (given to mum)
    - Cleared out cupboard of sweets, crisps and chocolates we have so much stuff left over from xmas so will need to put the diet on hold until these are eaten :o (again a bag full of sweets given to mum)
    - I have started to clear one of the kitchen worktops of stuff that just shouldn't be there just need to clean the surfaces now and i'll feel even better they are disgusting :o
    - I cleared out the cutlery drawer in the kitchen which makes it look so much better and its easier to find everything now

Im feeling a bit better but had to come have a sit down as i started to feel really warm and dizzy.... have a funny feeling i may be coming down with something which could explain why i've been feeling a bit down.

There is still so much left to do and i could do so much more but am thinking that i've done something so im entitled to a bit of a rest so will see how i feel in a little while and see if i can face doing anymore. Will update again once i have done something

    Hi buddiebabe

Well done on all the cleaning. I have nothing useful to say but just wanted to offer support - it sure is a long and hard road we are all one. You are doing fine so please allow yourself to have a rest and not feel guilty about it.

    Hey

Not much to update on the money front.... well i haven't checked my accounts for a few days so not sure if things are good bad or otherwise!

I had the day off work today and we did think about going and doing a carboot sale to get rid of some of the rubbish in the house but in the end we decided against it as i really haven't had a nice relaxing day off in a while.

I still haven't had a relaxing day off today!!! About 11am we decided to go out and start doing some gardening.... at about 1.30 we thought we'd done enough for today so to treat ourselves we went out for an hours walk which involved getting hot dogs and then a trip round the shops, then to morrisons, tesco's and farmfoods to pick up some nice food for dinner. When we got back home we decided to do some more gardening about 2 hours later i couldn't do anymore, my back hurt i was tired and the sun was sooooo warm all i wanted to do was sit down.

I made the dinner and then spent a few hours just chilling in front of the tv....Im shattered!

The garden is now beginning to look like a garden instead of a rubbish tip.... the amount of milk cartons and beer cans i found today was shocking considering neither of us drink milk or beer from cans its just been people flinging them in our front garden instead of the bin  but then again they have probably been there for a few years its just the first time they've actually seen the light of day for a long time!!

I lost 2lbs when i weighed myself on Saturday morning so am hoping that the walking and the gardening today will have made some impact on the weight loss.

I really want to get a fence and a shed for the garden as i've not been able to sit out in the garden since i moved here in 1999 so i would love to have somewhere we could just chill and relax if its a nice day so i have made the decision that im going to get a fence and a shed and we are going to do the garden. Im fed up not being able to do things cause we have no money so i phoned up my RBS credit card today to order a new pin number. My fiance has said that he'll pay half for whatever we need to get the garden useable so im hoping that if i get a few reasonable quotes within the next few weeks by the end of May we may have a garden that we can enjoy.

I know its ultimately going to increase the debt but if it gives us somewhere we can enjoy spending time together it might all just be worth it.

My car is going into the garage 2moro for a service and im dreading the cost. Its possibly the suspension that has gone on it and it also needs a new brake light bulb so im not looking forward to hearing how much thats going to cost me but i need a car that is in working order and the MOT is due in June so if i can get it fixed now it will hopefully sail through its MOT.

I've had to take the day off work as i have no transport to get me to work so the plan for 2moro is:

    - have a nice long lie
    - have a cup of coffee and some toast
    - have an awakening shower (before i get stuck into the cleaning)
    - clean the bathroom
    - clean the kitchen surfaces
    - put on a washing
    - empty all bins
    - brush and mop kitchen and bathroom floors
    - do ironing that is sitting from all washing done over last few days
    - have some lunch
    - check all bank accounts
    - check ebay and leave feedback
    - make my dinner before going to work at night
    - have another shower
    - go to work at night
    - sit down when i get home and catch up with MSE threads

That is the way i see my day going at the moment.... then again if its nice and sunny again tomorrow all bets are off and i'll probably end up sitting in the garden reading a book :p

Going to check my bank accounts just now and see whats happening... if i have anything to report will update before i go to bed

Well i have checked my bank accounts and there are no surprises just the majority of my credit card statements have been produced so will expect the bills in over the next few days. I get paid 2moro so i know i will have some money in my bank to make a start to pay them.

I usually pay them online as soon as my wages go into my account but im going to wait and see what the verdict is about the car this month before i do anything. I have just realised that i have £175 put away for the car repairs at the moment and im due to put another £50 away this weeks so that will be £225 which is better than nothing so am hoping that it won't be much more than that so that i can then pay everything else without having to dip into the road tax or car insurance money.

As soon as i have an update on the car i'll let you know! Then it will give me a better indication of what im going to have left this month.

I have put everything into the snowball calculator at the moment and at todays date my outstanding total debt is £28344.13 which includes my interest for my MBNA and RBS1 M/C. I still have my minimum payments to pay for RBS 1, RBS 2 (less interest added), MBNA, Debenhams (less interest added) and Santander (less interest added) so its not looking too bad at the moment..... if i could get the debt down to £28000 i would be over the moon but i've done a rough calculation and it would be a real struggle i think to get it that far down but in an ideal world thats what i would like to achieve this month... Its £344.13 i would need to pay after all the interest has been added on which is do-able i think if i just make sure i don't buy anything i really don't need.

Please keep your fingers crossed that its not anything too serious with the car cause i still need to buy petrol for the damn thing and if its anything major i just wont be able to afford both :o

The snowball calculator says my debt free date is 63 months away which is July 2015 it seems like ages away but it will be here before we know it..... am hoping that i will be able to pay everything off by then cause its only 5 years away and if you look at the big picture 5 years really isn't that long to go and i will only be 37 which isn't that old.

I think the sunshine has gone to my head... im feeling awfully positive and optimistic tonight! Am off to bed now before the horrible depressing thoughts creep up on me ;)

Hiya. Glad to hear you are feeling optimistic. I think it's a good plan to do the garden - having somewhere pleasant to sit outside in the summer will certainly be good for your stress levels. Good luck with getting to 28,000.

  • Hi Buddiebabe. Glad you're feeling better and well done on all the gardening work. As Seaxwyn says, it'll be worth it in the summer when you've got somewhere nice to sit and relax.

    Have a good day.
