    Hey

Sorry not updated in a while i have been a bit busy. We have set a date for the wedding :j:eek::j

Its going to be Sunday the 18th September 2011

which seems like ages away but i have a funny feeling its just going to creep right up on us!

We are paying for it ourselves..... how i have no idea yet  but we decided that if we don't do it now its just not going to happen. We could wait until we've paid off all the debt which would be the sensible idea but you know me i've never really been called sensible!

We are going to see about booking the wedding, registrar and the reception on Friday and we will probably need around £1400 to pay the deposit which is going to need to go on a credit card.... the balance has to be paid the month before the wedding which will give us time to save for that.

It does mean that all major extra debt repayments are on hold and money will be getting saved instead of paying extra to the debts.... although i am still going to try and pay of £10K this year in between saving, working, wedding stuff i just think that neither of us are getting any younger and our families are getting older and we don't want to take the chance that the people we care about might not be around to see us getting married. It will probably add a few years onto my debt free date but am sure i can get through that with all your help.

If you have any wedding hints tips or advice or just wanna talk dresses :D let me know !!!!

Buddiebabe - that's brilliant news - I got married on 11th September so its a week after my anniversary. I am so pleased for you.

How many wedding magazines/books have you bought so far? I bought loads. Someone bought me a small wedding planner book and it was brilliant.

By the time you've decided what you want, organised all the bookings etc., it will the big day!

Well done on paying back your fiance.

    Hey

Sorry i've not been on lately i've been working every day and night the last time i had a day off was my birthday last monday and i haven't had 2 minutes since. The house is a mess, money is a mess and i have no idea where i am with anything.

I have spent a fortune this month so much so that i have went over the limit on my santander 0% credit card which is not going to be good when they take the 0% off me. Am so annoyed with myself.

I have been buying rubbish i don't need but its such a bargain that i have to have one or ten!

I need to get some of this house cleared but i have no idea when i am going to find the time to do this. Im working at 10.30 today and am still sitting in my jammies. I really need to get a move on. I did manage to get up and put a washing on.... i just hope it finishes in the next 5 mins so i can get it out before i start work but by the sounds of it there is no way its going to happen!!!

    Better get a move on

I have been trying to sort out money and stuff tonight and im not getting anywhere fast. I have caught up on all the threads and challenges i have joined so now have an idea where to start on all the stuff i need to do.

Im working all week but am off from my 2nd job 2moro night and i need to decide what to do with my time off. I either ebay, tidy, chill out or try to do a bit of everything..... i intend to go to tesco after work to pick up some bits and pieces so it will all depend on when i get home.

Im going to go try and get some sleep soon once i have sorted out uniforms and lunch for 2moro

    Hey

Wish i had been able to chill out when i came home. I went to tesco after work to get some shopping managed to only spend £20.22 and paid in cash..... which is so not like me! I then went and filled up the car with petrol i only needed about a quarter of a tank and it cost me £22  am so unimpressed by that.

When i got home i took one look at the mess and put the shopping away got changed and started cleaning. I cleaned the bathroom from top to bottom, including taking down the light fitting and removing the dead flies :o i also cleared the hall. I took down the clothes rail and all the coat hangers, all the ebay stuff that was hanging up is now in a box..... i figure that if it sells it will end up being creased when packaging it up so it will take up less room in the box. I hoovered the hall carpet down on my hands and knees with the attachments for the hoover as its not working properly. I put on a washing and 2 loads in the tumble drier and then sorted them out once they were dry i also took down the engagement cards and my birthday cards and put them in a box to go through later and decide what im keeping and whats getting recycled. I put away my birthday presents and cleared the couch so there is finally somewhere to sit.

I ended up having my dinner at 10pm which is not good and it was also the first time i had sat down and relaxed since i got home...... im so tired now i could just fall asleep where i sit.

Im going to head to bed in a minute just want to catch up on some diaries first. Will try and update again soon.... am sorely tempted to see if i can take a holiday on Friday this week but not sure if i'd be able to.

    Hey

MrsP since that last post i haven't done any housework or anything like it again..... i am off 2moro night so who knows.... i'd probably be able to do someone elses so much quicker than mine.... i just can't seem to be motivated when its my own mess :o

Well its finally the end of January which is good cause i always end up overspending.... although the next 18 months are going to end up costing me a small fortune. We went to a wedding fair today and some of the stuff there was just gorgeous.... there is no way we can afford some of it and the stuff we can afford is stuff we really don't need. Its given us some really good ideas for what we would like and it's also given us an idea of what we need to save for each thing we need well things we would like.

I thought i better update what i've spent i should really be saying what i've managed to pay this month but am not 100% sure i've actually paid anything i'll wait and see what the total is

So outstanding at the 1st February 2010 is:

    OVERDRAFTS:

ROYAL BANK OF SCOTLAND £800.00 no change

    LOANS:

ROYAL BANK OF SCOTLAND £8033.28 now £7782.24
FIANCE £30.00 now paid off :j
    HOUSE SAVINGS £180.00 now £170.30

    CREDIT CARDS:

    DEBENHAMS £1900.00 now £1826.00
    MBNA £3900.00 now £3890.00
ROYAL BANK OF SCOTLAND MC 1 £7718.00 now £7640.00

ROYAL BANK OF SCOTLAND MC 2 £4572.00 now £4555.00
    TESCO £1450.00 now £1439.00
SANTANDER ZERO £300.00 now £447.20

    TOTALS:
    OVERDRAFTS £800.00 no change
    LOANS £8243.28 now £7952.54
    CREDIT CARDS £19840.00 now £19797.20

TOTAL OUTSTANDING JANUARY £28883.28 now £28549.74

Total paid off since 1st January 2010 is £333.54 :j

Im so pleased with that figure. I know its not exactly much but it's a start. I've left myself short for going into February but the good thing is i haven't increased my debt this month..... am so pleased by that :j:j:j

I have some things i want to buy in February and althought its not very MSE if i don't have the money i can use the credit card and know that my debt still went down this month even though i didn't really watch my spending.

I have the following in savings:

    House Account:

    HOUSE INSURANCE £80.00
    HOUSE REPAIRS £298.91
    GAS BILL £105.00

    Car Account:

    ROAD TAX £65.00
    CAR INSURANCE £30.00
    MOT & SERVICING £295.66

    TV Licence Savings Card £28.50

So far i have managed to put everything away for this year.... hopefully i'll be able to keep that up.

We have also managed to save £100 towards the cost of the wedding so only another £3900 to go to cover the cost of the venue without thinking about anything else :o

Never mind we will get there. Hopefully i can bring the debt down again next month but if im honest if i can get it to £28500 i would be happy cause i know i have a few things to buy and if i can do that without increasing the debt i'll be happy

HI buddiebabe. Well done on reducing the debt! It may not seem like much but it was not that long ago you went under 30k so you must be doing something right.

With time to think about what you want and plan how to get it, I am sure you can have the wedding you want without spending lots.
