Hi Buddibabe. It's difficult I know - whether to use the CC or use your "birthday present money". Whichever decision you make I am sure it will be the right one for you.

I'm going away Saturday morning to stay with Dad till Wednesday. I'm looking forward to the break and hoping for a couple of NSDs into the bargain.

I have stopped listing on Ebay till I come back and will then re-list all the stuff that didn't sell and try and find some new stuff to list.

    Take care

Hey MrsPorridge i hope you have a nice few days away and good luck with the NSD's i've still not worked out how many i have had... i lost track with being away... i know yesterday was one but i think i had a few more but until i actually make time to sit down and think about it i wont know for definate!!!

I got my credit card statement through for one of my RBS cards last month and on it they said they were going to increase the interest rate in 2 months time unless i contacted them and closed my account which would mean i had no access to the credit on the account but i would continue to pay the interest rate i am on at the moment. Anyway before my few days away i phoned them as i had contacted the bank to see if there was anything i could do to try and reduce what i was paying.... it took them 7 days to get back to me before they said nothing so anyway i phoned up the credit card and got put through to the cancellations department. I advised why i wanted to cancel my card and the lady on the phone was really nice saying that she could reduce the interest rate on my card to 7.9% apr until november to give me a chance to pay as much as i could towards the balance without it all being interest... my interest rate on that card at the moment is 20.9% so even for 6 months its better than nothing and after the 6 months i can still close the account but if i phone up again she said they would see if i could get a further interest rate reduction or 0% for a balance transfer so i chanced my luck and asked about the other RBS card i had and she said she would change that to 7.9% apr until November 2 :j now i know im not going to be able to pay any more than the minimum payments on these cards but it will help to pay more towards the debt rather than just £20 - £30 a month from minimum payments of over £300  so am interested to see what the interest is like on next months statement.

I paid the money into the house repairs account today £50.00 and also the £20 for the house insurance so at least that's done for this month.

One of the items i listed on ebay last night has sold buy it now for £5.00 it was an underwear set but it originally cost me £30 but it's been sitting in my drawer for months so when i cleared out i must have had at least 10 new sets all with tags that cost me a small fortune and with me putting weight on it would take me some time to get back into them so i decided they can all go on ebay... i'd rather have the money!!!!

Im going to try and get some more things on ebay this afternoon. I really need to get this house cleared and i have tonight, tomorrow and sunday to get rid of some stuff before im back at work on Monday. I would like to have at least 400 items listed by Saturday night .... i currently have 321 items listed and 5 selling for a total of £7.15 :T

Im going to do the following before i read anything on MSE again:

    1. List 5 items
    2. Listen to 5 CDs ready to list on ebay
    3. Sort through a box of stuff to see what has to be kept, thrown out, ebayed or given to charity.
    4. Checked my bank accounts
    5. Updated the snowball calculator

Think thats enough for now will update once thats all done

Well i've managed to do 4 out of the 5 things on my list. I didn't update the snowball calculator as it was taking too long to load up!!! I have listened to and listed my cds and i now have 350 items listed and i sold 3 items today through buy it now!!!

So its been quite a productive day for ebay.... probably would have got alot more done if turbo lister had been working ok it took me 3 hours to get it uninstalled and then reinstalled on my pc!!! not a happy bunny!!!

Am going to try and get some sleep now am still feeling rubbish the cold will not go away i'll do some more ebay stuff 2moro while the forum is down

That's brilliant news about the RBS cards. Will you still pay the £300+ a month? If so, that will make a big dent in the debt in six months.

Good luck with the ebay stuff. I just can't get myself sorted to list my stuff. It's pathetic, I know, but I don't even know how to use the camera or get the pictures onto the computer, I'm completely dependent on my OH to do that. So I'm going to take most of it to a carboot sale tomorrow. I'm only keeping the more valuable and easily postable stuff (like those bloomin first day covers) for ebay.

Hey Seaxwyn i just checked my online RBS credit card statement and it looks like the change of interest has already came into effect. Last month my interest was just over £90 and this month it is just over £30 so that means at least a £60 drop in interest charged over the 6 months will mean im paying £360 directly towards my debt instead of the interest :T i checked my minimum payment and it has went down but only be £2 so it means i will still have to pay out just over the £300 but that the debt will look as if im getting somewhere with it meantime!!!

I have ups and downs with ebay ..... i really have to be in the mood for it and at the moment im not but im going to make myself another list in the hope that i will get some stuff done if i set myself some goals.

So tonight i want to do the following:

    1. List 5 things on ebay
    2. Sort out a box of stuff in bedroom - charity shop, carboot sale, ebay, present box or bin
    3. Listen to another 5 CDs so i can get them sold.... they are hardcore rave cds and really hurt my head but i have 2 selling on ebay for £3.19 each so there is money in there
    4. Unpack one of the suitcases from my few days away.... one is full of toilettries so i think that will be the easiest one to do ... the other is just the clothes we didn't wear but they are all cleaned and still ironed... am tempted to just leave them in there until we go away in a weeks time but don't think i need the same things in a caravan as we do in a 4 star hotel!!!
    5. Sort out my wardrobe... try everything on... if it doesn't fit it can be ebayed, given to charity or thrown out

Think thats more than enough for now will just need to wait and see how i get on... i think its going to be a long night

Well i have done the following since my last post:

    - Listened to 5 of the CDs and listed 4 of them on ebay already
    - In total i have listed 19 new items on ebay tonight
    - Emptied the small suitcase with the toilettries in and put everything away
    - I emptied one box from the bedroom and one thing is in a bag to go the charity shop and the rest are all listed on ebay

I have not went through my wardrobe... i just don't have the energy so im going to go make a coffee and spend the next 40 mins entering competitions to see if i can win something.

That's not too bad for a couple of hours. I now have 369 items listed on ebay with 6 selling for a grand total of £10.34

Off to put the kettle on

    Hey

Well its another miserable day weather wise here so i have no intention of setting foot out of the house which should make it a NSD!

I've been sitting watching tv today and on the computer watching the BBC football page for the live scores from the football this afternoon and the result was the best we could have hoped for :j rangers are SPL champions :j

I've decided that i need to actually write down what i want to get done today because its the only way things actually get done!!! So here's my list for today:

    1. Sort out finances (check all accounts)
    2. Update snowball calculator
    3. Do 25 competitions

That will do for the moment... if i keep the list small then there is more chance of me actually achieving something

    Hey

Managed to do all the things on my small list last night which was good... think i ended up entering more than 25 competitions but like they say you have to be in it to win it!!!

Well it was my 1st day back at work today... wasn't as bad as i expected... still loads of work to be done but it was nice to catch up.... although alot of people had taken the day off so the office was quite quiet for a change so managed to get alot of work done. It will be a completely different story 2moro tho once everyone is back at work!

I ate like a pig today.... finally starting to get my appetite back after the weekend of the cold... i still have the cold but not bad enough to stop me eating :o

Had the night off from my 2nd job tonight so it was an easy way to break me back in after my holiday just one job then home for dinner at a normal time. I had a nice long soak in the bath earlier and read some of my book and am now in bed trying to sort out some paperwork. I've had quite a productive night so far i have managed to do the following:

    - get the directions for going away next week and have emailed them to work to print out 2moro
    - read all my emails and deleted the ones i didn't need
    - done my valued opinion surveys, lightspeed and yougov surveys.... i tend to leave them until the date has passed as i cant be bothered... i didn't get anywhere with any of them except the yougov survey which i got £1 for and it only took 2 mins :T
    - relisted my unsold ebay stuff
    - left feedback for ebay items
    - checked my bank accounts and shuffled some money around
    - looked out a missing item report i filed with the post office in January that they have not responded to so i will phone about that 2moro
    - looked out my tv licence statement (i've lost my payment card so need to phone and request a new one)
    - checked and updated my savings books... for house and car so i know exactly how much i have in them and what the amounts are supposed to be for :o

I've had a good think about things and i know that im going to have to take the money out my savings account to be able to pay the mortgage this month so i will get that out 2moro so it can be put in the bank on Wednesday. Im only going to take out £100 i owe my mum £20 but im going to ask if she can wait and get that from me on Friday once i get paid rather than me having to take anymore out my savings. In an ideal world i'd be able to put the money back into my savings account by budgeting for the extra that i have used but the way things are going at the moment even with me making over £100 on ebay this month im still struggling... so i know that once the money is out the savings account its not going to go back :o

I've just had a few ebay payments through so am going to go pay my ebay fees and then take out anything left from my paypal account... i've already emptied it tonight but think i might have another £10 now so going to go have a look.

Still get more motivated to do stuff if i have a list so here's what im going to do next:

    - check ebay account and pay outstanding fees
    - take out money from paypal account
    - look for savings book for work account... need this to take money out 2moro
    - enter 10 competitions

That should be enought for tonight

Don't know why i do this to myself... just when i feel like im getting somewhere something happens that brings me right back down again. I had quite a bad day at work today and haven't been feeling too well so i decided to cheer myself up by having a game of online bingo... 3 hours and £50 later im feeling worse than i did to start with... i've just spent £50 that i don't have and i feel like i cant go on anymore....

I have emailed the bingo account and it is now closed so i cannot be tempted again. I completely forgot about that account until they sent me a card through the post for free £12. I was sure i had closed all my accounts and am really mad with myself for giving in to the temptation  i just want to curl up in bed now and not get up again!!!!

I have spent weeks selling stuff on ebay to try and get some extra money together, i emptied my christmas savings to make sure enough money was in the bank for the mortgage and then i go and do something stupid like that.

Why can't i just be happy with what i've got?? why do i always want more....

Don't know what to do now
