Well I'm back and I survived the day at work - got a bit emotional when i got there and lost the plot for a few minutes :o but have been ok (ish) since. We got loads done in the classroom and moved it around a bit. My staff are all great and I think we'll be a good team.
Now, if only that wasn't going to be spoiled by ........ children

Hope you've all had a good day - do you think the thread will be shorter to catch up with once Valli's back at work  ***runs (well, walks!!) wawy quickly!!

    Thanks toots,
pmsl & pigpen, I might have known you couldn't stay nice.
Tag - you've made me feel normal. I was standing in the playground today and I swear people were seeking me out to tell me stuff - I don't want to know about their 19 holidays, 92 cars, their spoilt little brats!!!! DS has just joined juniors so next week the two of them are going to meet up in the playground and start walking home. I'll then start walking late and meet them half way. Result - no yucky mummies to talk to!:D

Mudbath and GnB, having earwigged some of the conversations that have gone on in the playground and witnessed a group of mothers having a slanging match, using very colourful language, right outside the school gates. I really have no desire to mix with the 'in crowd' at all. Nor do I really want DD being invited to play with any of said
    'in crowds' kids after school.

I think the worst thing I saw was a mother go storming up to her son grab him by the scruff, whack him and then give him a bo**ocking , because he had run across the road on the way to school and left his brother/sister behind. This is all in front of teachers, parents and children in the playground. Poor lad was so upset, crying and no doubt extremley embarassed.

Unfortunately for me, DD is a very sociable little girl and I often find myself in an awkward situation. I'm dreading it when she goes back to a degree, as she's moving up from reception to a mixed class of Y1 and Y2s. Which will mean a wider variety of friends wanting to come and play:rolleyes:
