  • Hi everyone,

I haven’t had a chance to go through the whole thread so hope everyone is doing ok, and hugs to those who aren’t.

I actually had to work while on work time yesterday, (how unreasonable is that!!):D so didn’t have time to post a list. And it’s pretty poor news on the flying front as well. I’ve been so tired when I get in the last few nights that I’ve barely done anything. Can’t believe that this is proving so hard to get back into. I did do the washing up yesterday, because it desperately needed doing, but other than that I’m a miserable failure so far. Sorry all, I’m letting the side down! lol

Don’t think much will get done tonight either, as I have to go out for a friend’s birthday, but I may try and use that “getting ready, very excited coz I look all pretty” energy to tidy up a little before I swan out in a blaze of perfume and glitter! :p
However, since I’m nearly always late this is remarkably unlikely. Ah well. Good intentions… But I am looking forward to tonight as I spent all this morning arguing with South West trains. I had left my bag on the train, and they were ridiculously unhelpful. Talked to 7 different people at Waterloo before finally losing it (it was not even 9am yet, and I hadn’t had a cup of tea, so my patience was limited) and demanding a manager. Even then I didn’t get very far. Grrrr. Must remember to add that to my list of things to be resolved.

So here's my list, to be added to Pigpen's:

    - [strike]move money into A7L account[/strike]
    - Replace toilet block
    - [strike]
    Buy birthday present for Wednesday
    - Make sure dentist gets booked
    [/strike]
    - Book hair appointment
    - Send off test sample
    - Put books on Amazon
    - Photograph eBay stuff or take to charity shop
    - Fill in workshop form and return
    - Pay rent cheque
    - take coppers to bank
    - Learn how hot water timer works and set it!
    - Put coat hooks up
    - Sand and varnish desk and coffee table
    - Buy dehumidifiers
    - Re-fill gas bottle
    - Book eye test - D&A b4 Dec 08
    - Arrange theatre trip outing
    - Declare war on South West trains
    - Win the lottery without buying a ticket

  • This is for all the teachers out there - I hope you have some days like this !!!!!!

    Middle WIFE

by an Anonymous 2nd grade teacher

I've been teaching now for about fifteen years. I have two kids myself, but the best birth story I know is the one I saw in my own second-grade Classroom a few years back.

When I was a kid, I loved show-and-tell. So I always have a few sessions with my students. It helps them get over shyness and usually, Show-and-tell is pretty tame. Kids bring in pet turtles, model Airplanes, pictures of fish they catch, stuff like that.

And I never, ever place any boundaries or limitations on them. If they want to lug it in to school and talk about it, they're welcome.

Well, one day this little girl, Erica, a very bright, very outgoing kid, takes her turn and waddles up to the front of the class with a pillow stuffed under her sweater.

She holds up a snapshot of an infant. 'This is Luke , my baby brother, and I'm going to tell you about his birthday.'

'First, Mom and Dad made him as a symbol o f their love, and then Dad put a seed in my Mom's stomach, and Luke grew in there. He ate for nine months through an umbrella cord.'

She's standing there with her hands on the pillow, and I'm trying not to Laugh and wishing I had my camcorder with me. The kids are watching her in amazement.

'Then, about two Saturdays ago, my Mom starts saying and going, 'Oh, Oh, Oh, Oh!' Erica puts a hand behind her back and groans. 'She walked around the house for, like an hour, 'Oh, oh, oh!' Now this kid is doing a hysterical duck walk and groaning.

'My Dad called the middle wife. She delivers babies, but she doesn't have a sign on the car like the Domino's man. They got my Mom to lie Down in bed like this.' Then Erica lies down with her back against the wall.

'And then, pop! My Mom had this bag of water she kept in there in Case he got thirsty, and it just blew up and spilled all over the bed, Like psshhheew!' This kid has her legs spread with her little hands miming water flowing away. It was too much!

'Then the middle wife starts saying 'push, push,' and 'breathe, Breathe. They started counting, but never even got past ten. Then, all of a sudden, out comes my brother. He was covered in yucky stuff that they all said it was from Mom's play-center, so there must be a lot of toys inside there.'

Then Erica stood up, took a big theatrical bow and returned to her seat. I'm sure I applauded the loudest. Ever since then, when it's Show-and-tell day, I bring my camcorder, just in case another 'Middle Wife' comes along.

Now you have two choices...laugh and close this page or pass this along to someone else to spread the laughs. I know what I did!!!

Live every day as if it is your LAST chance to make someone happy!

Enjoy your party. You are not afailure or letting anybody down - it was most inconsiderate of them expecting you to work during working hours - cant you speak to your manager to get some'flying' time!!! lol. Hey, you have to work so the house will have to wait - you will get there - just do what you can when you can!!! every little will help - thats what i have found.

List all done and i've also deep cleaned my clinic ready for tomorrow. I've just had another client book for next week and i'm already booked up on the three days I was going to work. I think i'll see how I feel doing four days and if it's too much to start with I can always drop it.

First day at school done and both children have gone to someone's house for tea. I'm taking a step back from everything at school...no helping in class for a bit, no pta, trying to avoid people in the playground....just feel I need to distance myself from it a bit because everyone is annoying me:rotfl: . I must be getting old :D .

Right, think i'll go check my clinic again....

{goes off singing 'i'm working tomorrow, i'm working tomorrow} :rotfl: xx

WOOHOO!! for working tomorrow.. just shows how good everyone thinks you are or else noone would want to book with you.

I avoid people in the playground too.. it isn't because they annoy me.. it is because I want to strangle them and their 'don't do that little sweetums' when their child quite obviously needs boiling in acid.. Ok.. so everyone avoids me really because they think I'm weird.. I'm not.. really..

Careful Pigpen...I think you might have just been nice to me...FIRST TIME EVER!!!!!! Seriously though, i'm really chuffed as every single client has come back to me apart from the one who emigrated to New Zealand and she got her mum to book in :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: . OMG i'm going to feel rich for about two minutes!! xx

I'm not the only one then that avoids the cliques in the school playground. I really can't be doing with it to be honest. It always ends up bit**y and nasty. And I agree pigpen some of the kids well............. So therefore I'm in the 'weird' category as well - just because I keep myself to myself.
