Might not seem that good now - but in 51 years time when the new one breaks, you'll have a free replacement! ;)
Ha! Ha! As they are all made in China now, I doubt it will last even half that time, but I won't be around to worry about it !!

we have a 2 slice avanti toaster and i think it's awful, the slots are way too shallow so no bread ever fits in them, it alwys pokes out of the top leaving an untoasted bit
i'm constantly spinning my bread round trying to get it to toast evenly

I was telling a golf pal about mny Morphy Richards thing and he said, "we bought one from Tesco for £3, you put the bread in and it pops up when it's done !" So if you shop in Tesco you could have a look at theirs !!
Worth a punt for £3 and a year's guarantee (if they are still available).

  • I need a new toaster, my last one used toast the first 2 slices perfectly - but if you dare to have 2 more - you are asking for trouble, smoke detectors etc etc and the best bit is only one side the bread is burnt.

I decided on the Tefal Avanti - got a good deal £39.95 is Argos and Tesco had it on their website for £28.00 - and a £5 coupon courtesy of MSE - I ordered paid for it and picked it up..... BUT I now need an extension for the kitchen - the toaster is that big.... best bit is when I used it - (Kingsmill sqare cut bread) the top part wasnt toasted. Its back in its box as we speak. So can anyone recommend a "good toaster".
What goes around comes around !! Simple but very true :rotfl:
  • Breville Blue Ice 2 Slice Illuminating Toaster,, this is the toaster tested by the Gadget show and chosen on style, ease of use, price, and most importantly the best toast of all the ones they tried. £39.99 at Argos

Delighted with my new Dualit. It should have cost an arm and a leg but only cost an arm as I had it in a Debenhams sale and extra money off as it was ex-display. It makes lovely 'dry' toast and has a crumb tray.

Incidentally, tried buying off Debenhams website but by the time they answered my email query (customer services couldn't help) about the colour the offer was over!!
  • Russel Hobbs, you can't go wrong takes all sizes of bread.
  • Which best toaster is this one at £40

    Krups Toast expert FEM 231

Another best buy but cheaper at £25 is

    Breville Classique Stainless TT48
