I love the Tat Iz Us comment!
My Aunt and Uncle were repossessed last year and before the bailiff lady arrived, the EA was already sitting outside in the car. He came in to take pictures as we were still moving furniture around. The bailiff asked him to stop in the end (also telling us how they always seemed like vultures to her as they had the keys after they'd moved so had all the time in the world). The EA said he'd finished anyway, he had all the pictures he needed. When the property went onto rightmove the pictures were awful, you could see all the furniture halfway out the door, bags and suitcases everywhere and boxes full of things on the kitchen worktops. Why on earth do they do this?
So maybe the people at that property were still there moving out? I still think it would be better shown empty than cluttered but then maybe that's why I'm not an EA, there must be a reason they do it.0 -
I think the EAs take photos of a house thats obviously a repo fully cluttered so it gives it an air of despair and invites low offers.0

Our estate agent was really helpful when she came to take pictures when we were putting our house up for sale. I thought everywhere was tidy, but when she came to take pictures of the kitchen, she asked us if we wanted to move the kitchen bin and laundry basket out of the photo (was tidy, complete with lid, no overflowing with dirty washing or anything). She said quite a few people say after seeing their photos that they wished they'd moved something out of the way.
I can't believe estate agents would take photos of messy houses. Here, if a house is bad, they usually don't have any photos online - just the room description and sizes. There are no local houses on RightMove.0 -
I have to admit, there are some days I'm really grateful no one can see the inside of our house. More to the point, our bedroom. DH and I have a small double bedroom packed to the gills with stuf we have acquired in the time we've been camping at parents house, two big ieces of furniture that just wouldn't fit in storage and books. This weekend we realised the books were obscuring too much light from the windows (stacked on windowsils. This involved major reshuffling. Cleaning suh overfilled environments is truely hard and very depressing.0

Had a quick potter around FM the other night just to see if the Brighton bubble has popped yet (not that much yet for some strange reason......the local EA's are trying to keep it propped up I think) and came across this.

Sorry, not techy enough to paste a pic from the ad but I wondered who would let an agent photo the house in such a mess?????
I missed the post about the fire house...but reading about it in papers today made me wonder how many more tragedies the downturn is going to throw up?
Edit..seem to be a lot of tellys on top of the wardrobe...spares?
classic :rotfl:I got food in my belly and a license for my telly
And nothing's going to bring me down0
