And we have another comps ending begging thread on the main board already (just as all the bg's have popped off after a hard day!)

Do peeps not realise that is exactly the sort of thing that is so frustrating?! More work for bg's, more arguments and ill feeling!

Please just give it a rest!

I agree. I'm fairly new and totally rely on these daily lists. As an amateur I aspire to be competent enough to be able to produce a comps ending list in the future.

come over to the discussion thread and join in with the Catching up with Comps Challenge that some of us are on.

I restarted comping last Sunday after a 6 month break and have nearly caught up, just reached page 34.
My light may be on, but that doesn't always mean I am looking at the PC - I am far more likely to be cuddling or feeding Tianna atm, so please don't think I am ignoring you if I don't reply quickly :)

I restarted last sunday and I had a solid 72 hours with my poorly ds next to me, so had some spare time. I reckon I can do about 20-30 pages a day once kids are asleep.

Once I'm up-to-date, it will be a lot quicker, as I can display by thread started date.

Are you using the snaplink thingy for firefox, that doubled the speed I could comp, and the roboform tip from Toniq, helped again today

i do at most 10 pages at night when dd is asleep.
ive seen snaplink mentioned but dont have a clue what it is and dont use firefox, think it would all just confuse me lol.

im knackered now, going to call it a night i think.

    gl catching up x

I learnt Firefox when it was the best browser for a big comp in the spring. Its a free browser you can download, and its quite fast. My aol just hangs a lot with the comps pages.

Until this week I didn't even realise that using tabs instead of loads of pages would speed up my loading of new pages.

Then you can add little programs to Firefox that will help you to do things that you want. The snaplink add on, means you can right click somewhere, move your pointer away down the page and when you let go of the button all the active links in the box will automaically open in another tab/page for you.

  • I haven't been around for a while and finding the whole 'policing' aspect of posts about the comps ending thread quite unfriendly. Surely its ok to post comments etc - particularly if a big decision is being made and we haven't had a chance to give our feedback yet? I would have though the board guides want ot make a decision which reflects the feeling of hte community and if we are being muzzled and told we aren't allowed to discuss things that is hardly going to happen is it?

I would say it would be sensible and democratic to post a thread asking for people's feedback -t hat way i twould stay in one place and not pepper the board.

:( such a shame the board is feeling so unfriendly at the moment on this issue - it's always been a warm place in the past

i'm gonna stay quiet on this one and respect the board guides wishes to have no further discussion on this until the other board guides have had their discussion

I think its pretty easy to following the information with regards to comping.........the guides are very useful reading when getting to know how the forum works. The time and effort spent compiling helpful tips on how to search, add threads and hints and tips with various other options available on the board.

The less said the better i feel :D just respect the BGs and rules to comping and everybody is happy ;)

Perhaps if the board guides want it to be widely known they don't wish us to discuss things they could post it on a sticky explaining their reasons why, rather than relying on the bush telegraph of people posting and slapping each others wrists.

I'm sincerely not troublemaking but I'm disliking the way this is being handled in the extreme.
